Position Summary:
Data, Analytics, and AI ("DAA") lie at the very heart of McDonalds' strategy. As the largest restaurant brand in the world, we have access to uniquely large and valuable datasets that power every aspect of our business. We recently built the Enterprise Data, Analytics, and AI team, led by the Chief Data & Analytics Officer, to accelerate DAA-powered strategies.
Generative AI ("GenAI"), as seen in ChatGPT, is one of the newest and most promising areas of DAA. It has the potential to drive innovative growth and productivity improvements. However, the field is still new and fast-moving, with many unknowns. McDonald's recently launched a Generative AI Center of Excellence ("GenAI COE") made up of a highly cross-functional team driving a four-part mission:
Coordinate McD's response to GenAI
Stand up an AI Governance Program
Provide a safe, reliable, and scalable enterprise platform for GenAI development
Accelerate MCD speed to value creation with GenAI
The Manager, Responsible AI sits within the GenAI COE (part of Global Business Services), and reports directly to the Sr Director, GenAI Business Lead. In this role, you will work closely with the GenAI Business Lead to create the process and standards to orchestrate all aspects of Responsible AI at McDonald's globally, in close collaboration with expert risk functions such as the Privacy team and Global Technology Risk Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible AI process management
Launch AI Governance policies, standards, and related communications
Oversee AI Governance operations across the AI lifecycle, including risk reviews, building a registry of AI models in use, and deprecation/retirement of outdated models
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in AI
Drive continuous improvement with input from risk management experts and business stakeholders
Responsible AI education and training
Advocate for the responsible and effective use of AI across the system
Ensure that AI Governance principles are reflected in appropriate required trainings such as Information Governance training, Data Ethics training, etc.
Support cultural change, ensuring Responsible AI initiatives are understood and adopted by the organization
Risk management expert community engagement and alignment
Collaborate cross functionally
Ensure all related risk management teams are working together horizontally and creating "One McDonald's Way" of handling AI risk
