Job Description
Facilitates and manages day-to-day operations of the department, including quality, service, and fiscal and human resources processes. Supports and ensures that comprehensive patient care services are provided that support the integrity of the family system and patient care team. Proactively supports efforts to ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Job Responsibilities
Manages all operational aspects of campus Respiratory Care Department, including fiscal and performance metrics such as staff retention, patient satisfaction, quality, performance improvement, and staff development.
Establishes an operational plan for seamless care delivery for respiratory education and services.
Manages the utilization of resources for effective and efficient services.
Collaborates with medical staff and all levels of hospital personnel to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care.
Proactively partners with physician and nursing leaders for operational issues related to all Respiratory Care services.
Builds and develops effective relationships with physicians and clinical departments supporting the service line.
Leads the development and implementation of initiatives to achieve departmental and system goals, departmental/program growth, and new program initiatives.
Suggests new business plans for programs in Respiratory Care and assists Service Line Director and physician leaders with building business plans, gaining approval for plans, and effectively implementing plans.
Comprehensively implements business plan, including physician change management, new process implementation, and capacity planning system-wide.
Facilitates new technology.
Coordinates inpatient facility planning and design efforts for Respiratory Care.
Plans clinical integration program and serves as operational representative for program planning for both existing and new program development in partnership with various physician leaders and Service Line Director.
Participates in Respiratory Care cost reduction initiatives, including supply costs, quality initiatives, and performance improvement/efficiency initiatives.
Assists physician leaders and medical directors in Respiratory Care to develop clinical pathways that improve quality of care and medical outcomes.
Facilitates dissemination of quality results through scorecards and web tools.
Oversees staff development of direct reports, conducts performance reviews, and takes disciplinary action as needed.
Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including: interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
