The Release of Information Manager is responsible for proactively leading the day to day operations of the Novant Health Enterprise Release of Information management team to ensure compliance of key performance indicators, as well as ongoing quality assurance, productivity and efficiency of the operation with the focus of leading a highly functional, regulatory compliant and customer centric release of information department. The ROI Manager assists with the planning, direction and execution of the HIM release of information workflow by developing/implementing strategies, tracking/monitoring/reporting/complying with all ROI operational key performance indicators. The ROI Manager leads the team, in conjunction with the ROI Supervisors, to create and maintain a team member and patient centric culture as defined by Novant Health People Credo and Novant Health Service Standards. This role actively monitors and manages team member and departmental performance, rewards/disciplines accordingly, addresses/resolves complaints and problems, ensures policies/processes are updated/changed as needed, and ensures ongoing department training/education is addressed.
The ROI Manager, as needed, works closely with HIM leadership and associated teams from HIM, Revenue Cycle Services (RCS), Novant Health Medical Group, the Novant Health Privacy Office, external agencies, internal and external customers, and other Novant Health departments.
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of five years of management experience in a healthcare related field (such as acute care hospitals, medical record departments, health information management departments, revenue cycle departments, or CMS/government healthcare agency) required. Experience in medical records/Health Information Management with record of notable accomplishments and/or record of successful progression in responsibilities required.
Licensure/certification/registration: RHIA or RHIT certification required. Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) preferred.
Additional skills required: Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security regulators
Additional skills preferred: Experience with the Epic EHR and/or Hyland On Base scanning application, operational experience with release of information workflows and processes.
