Job Overview:

The Regional Marketing Manager role is responsible for supporting and growing franchisees' sales, traffic and profitability by planning and executing effective regional marketing plans, aiding in the execution of national marketing campaigns, and launching digital sales platforms across the US North & Central region for the Tim Hortons brand. This includes plans/ideas specific to each market as well as implementing the Tim Hortons national campaigns of Smile Cookie and Camp Day in a relevant way to these markets. The ideal candidate has a background in introducing a high-growth restaurant brand to these markets in the US and successfully driving traffic.

You will work closely with the other Regional Marketing Managers who oversee the existing markets in US and the Area Franchise Lead and Manager of Franchise Performance for the North and Central regions. You will also work with our central marketing functions for Tim Hortons US including Marketing, Digital & Technology, Operations, and Global Business Services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provides guidance and direction to Restaurant Owners in setting Regional Marketing objectives for the year.

  • Develops and recommends programs to Restaurant Owners groups based on Regional Marketing objectives.

  • Executes Regional Marketing programs in partnership with Restaurant Owners.

  • Liaises with Head Office and Restaurant groups to ensure National programs are being implemented, to request feedback and address concerns regarding these programs, and to ensure communication and the resolution of problems.

  • Negotiates, coordinates, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing programs such as sports sponsorships and promotional events, in-store advertising materials and displays etc.

  • Open: Plan and manage successful execution of Grand Openings in the North & Central regions (for each new restaurant opening)

  • Sustain: Plan and manage ongoing local/regional marketing initiatives to sustain market-wide sales in the North & Central regions

  • Responsible for managing franchisee relationships in the North & Central regions regarding marketing, including but not limited to establishing weekly/monthly status checks with owners which may include in-person visits to local restaurants

  • Work closely with the Tim Hortons national marketing team and Owners to ensure successful execution of brand programs including new product/promotion rollouts

  • Supports the analysis of marketing programs, new product introductions, promotions and effectively measures their success to help gain greater understanding of local sales, traffic, and profitability

  • Brings local and regional knowledge and context to the corporate team for understating sales and traffic patterns

  • Assist in onboarding digital sales channels, including third-party delivery, mobile app ordering, and exterior digital menu boards

  • Facilitates the accurate and timely communication of brand marketing programs, systems, and procedures to franchisees

  • Provides reporting and business/trend analysis allowing performance analytics team and franchisees to make profit-maximizing decisions

  • Special projects as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field

  • 2-5 years relevant work experience

  • Demonstrates excellent organization skills, with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks

  • Demonstrates strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, and influencing ability to maintain and grow productive relationships with franchisees

  • Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication, to include formal presentations and the ability to prepare and present to franchisees on a regular basis and senior leadership on an occasional basis

  • Must have the ability to interface and maintain excellent professional relationships with a variety of audiences to include franchise partners, ad agencies, local marketing vendors, internal corporate functions, and senior leadership

  • Demonstrates high level of problem-solving skills

  • Advanced in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Honesty, high integrity, personal accountability, ownership, and a passion for the success of the brand, the team, and personal career growth
