How will you make an impact?

This role will investigate, create, and validate new scientific methodologies used to control raw materials, production intermediates, and final products on highly critical projects. May be involved in pre-clinical, clinical, and/or post-marketing stages of drug development. Work on business critical technical/scientific project activities to execute strategies and technical solutions that meet client needs and expectations through broad expertise. Participate in technical discussions with clients with an expert level of technical proficiency. Engage in creation of processes and equipment design for clinical, scale up, and/or registration batches, including technology transfer of projects to and from clients. Evaluate and contribute to the design of manufacturing processes and support problem solving as necessary with leadership and independent judgement. Make decisions that require developing new options to solve complex problems. Will have 2 direct reports initially but will grow from there.

What will you do?

  • Interact with top company leaders to develop scientific strategy. Oversee execution of strategy.

  • Lead strategic initiatives and solutions and oversee implementation.

  • Work closely with site management to optimize requirements of both client and site for portfolio of projects.

  • Oversee and approve proposal development.

  • Lead meetings/teleconferences with clients.

  • Lead development of methods and processes that meet or exceed the expectations from clients and provide innovation as necessary.

  • Lead a team over multiple projects; manage team's project timelines and deliverables; review group's financials.

  • Guide and advise during implementation of new methodologies and processes.

  • Direct resolution of problems related to the conduct of chemical experiments.

  • Liaise with internal scientific, analytical, and laboratory functional areas to meet project and team objectives.

  • Perform all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices and Safety guidelines.

  • Maintain the necessary compliance status required by company and facility standards.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Must have a PhD in Chemistry.

Experience

  • At least 9 years of API experience in the pharmaceutical industry required.

  • Previous supervisory experience required.

  • Process chemistry experience in a GMP environment required.

  • Experience working directly with clients.

  • Project management experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Widely recognized as a SME.

  • Expert knowledge of scientific methodology and development as related to pharmaceutical development.

  • Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Superior critical and logical thinking skills with an ability to communicate ideas to employees and clients at multiple levels.

  • Effective written, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including managing technical discussions with internal and external clients.

  • Ability to work on and lead multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to delegate work.

  • Ability to maintain and expand expert knowledge and to keep current with scientific literature and industry trends relating to process technologies.

  • Ability to develop technical solutions.

The EPO teams oversee the execution of significant processes across the enterprise by partnering with Legal, Compliance and the Front Line Units (FLUs)/Operations. EPOs perform standard functions to identify and mitigate risks, achieve operating targets and consistently comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations. Job Description: This role is responsible for oversight of the Global Financial Crimes (AML) Enterprise Standards for Business Entities. This includes working with GFCC and FLU's to review changes to standards, identification of impacts, implementation plan development and execution, reporting and reporting. * Partner with GFCC to communicate the changes to the AML Enterprise Standards for individuals with the Front Line Units (FLUs) and Control Functions (CFs) specific to our customers. * Oversee the FLUs/CFs impact assessments to identify any gaps to the revised Standards and corresponding implementation plans (methods and timing) for remediation * Coordinate with the FLUs/CFs to track the status and progress of implementation plans on a monthly basis * Present the status and progress of implementation plans at AML EPO governance meetings on a routine basis * Partner with FLUs/CFs to perform adherence assessment of standard requirements as implemented Partner with FLUs to ensure appropriate controls in place to comply with AML requirements to comply with updated policy and/or standards * Serves as subject matter expert for AML policy's and standards and provides guidance to FLU/Operations team to clarify with Compliance where unclear. * Establish regular process to engage with FLU/ LOB to perform Standard Gap Assessments to evaluate whether or not changes to existing procedures are needed based on alignment to current policy and standards * Facilitate and manage new policy/standard exceptions with FLUs and maintain for any existing exceptions through appropriate governance routines. Enterprise Role Overview Assist in the execution of internal control discipline and operational excellence within a LOB or ECF. Execute LOB/ECF specific processes and tools to drive adherence to enterprise-wide Standards. Support the implementation of QA/QC processes within the LOB/ECF through ongoing monitoring and testing of controls.
