MANAGER, RAW PROCUREMENT

Manage all aspects of raw procurement and delivery processes for Cavendish Farms facility. Ensure processes support consistent supply of highest quality raw materials to satisfy customer requirements in an environmentally and economically sustainable manner. Manage grower relationships and ensure industry research/best practices.

• Source raw product for contract or open positions. Manage grower contracts and supplier relationships, including farm and pack shed visits to monitor raw quality and volume.

• Monitor raw based on the Company's contracts and quality needs. Review the growers' database to ensure accuracy of contracts, payment prices and deductions.

• Plan and coordinate monthly raw delivery schedules in conjunction with Production's needs, including freight, importation certificates and regulatory documentation.

• Identify and execute opportunities for operational cost savings through better value raw material. Provide recommendations for potential raw material specification changes and alternative raw materials and sources.

• Oversee company potato storages (ie. deliveries, work priorities and budget management).

• Take part in negotiating processing contracts

• Provide grower feedback regarding quality and areas for improvement

• Hire and manage seasonal sampling team

• Strategy & Planning: Together with plant leadership team, develop short and mid-term site strategies and execution plans to satisfy demand (staffing, variety development, raw materials etc).

Management is responsible for creating a positive food safety culture, setting expectations, and inspiring others to follow. You are responsible for completing food safety training within your areas of responsibility and supporting the overall food safety program within Cavendish Farms.
