Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging this position is responsible for assisting the department director in a variety of supervisory

responsibilities. Performs a variety of diagnostic radiology and fluoroscopic procedures at a highly skilled level. Will perform other duties as

needed to assist department functions, including patient transport, darkroom and front office.

Qualifications

Current Certification by the California Department of Health Services and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT and CRT)

required.

Current California Fluoroscopy Certificate required.

Current BLS (CPR) certificate required.

One (1) year supervisory experience preferred and five (5) years experience in the field of Diagnostic Radiology preferred.

Knowledge and understanding of regulations directly impacting imaging services.

Knowledge of CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Angio, Special Procedures and Operations preferred.

I.V. C ertification for contrast injections preferred.

Knowledge of PACS administration preferred.

Specific activities encompass collecting and analyzing risk management and patient safety data, analysis of the data and recommendation of programs to mitigate risk and improve patient safety. Works collaboratively with departments to implement C orporate and Facility risk reduction strategies and patient safety goals. The position entails data collection, analysis, reporting, educating, providing leadership, and being accountable for related activities. This positions is an integral part of the Risk/C ompliance team in providing support services to the facility. Departmental cross-training provide for back-up support as needed to the Director of Risk Management. Risk Analyst reports directly to the Director of Risk Management. Qualifications ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS Ø Well-organized, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines Ø Excellent presentations, written and verbal communication skills Ø Proficiency in computer skills with special emphasis on Microsoft Office suite of tools Ø Excellent analytical skills, including analysis, planning, organizing, and troubleshooting Ø Ability to work with minimal supervision Ø Must work in conjunction with staff in a supportive way to troubleshoot and resolve issues Ø Ability to work both independently and as a team member, flexible in approach Ø Excellent understanding of healthcare environment Ø Possess strong customer service skills/interpersonal interactions; ability to handle difficult and angry people constructively; savvy enough to interact with physicians/senior leadership Ø Must be able to address difficult, awkward situations with tact and diplomacy Ø Must be visible to staff, offering support and modeling service behaviors and concern resolution processes MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE Ø Minimum three (3) years' experience in healthcare risk/quality/medical staff fields or related experience preferred Ø Must have knowledge of current principles of risk management, patient safety and service excellence. Ø Must have the ability to perform duties independently and accurately, including compiling and maintaining complex data and producing timely reports and updates. Ø Must have the ability to handle multiple complex tasks with a high level of flexibility and with exceptional time management skills, and the ability to represent the department with professional appearance and demeanor. Ø Recent experience with audits, chart reviews, clinical management, risk management investigations, and report writing is strongly preferred. MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION Ø Bachelor degree in Nursing or related field REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS Ø Registered Nurse License preferred Ø Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management preferred WORK ENVIRONMENT Ø Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
