POSITION OVERVIEW:

Provides leadership to the Quality Assurance organization by directing and administering strategic, operational, fiscal, and personnel activities. Takes lead role with senior management for Quality Management System as Company's Management Rep. Monitors the overall QA system for effectiveness and compliance to all system and procedures as well as customer requirements and ISO/AS certification requirements. Prepares and revises procedures to maintain compliance with the relevant and applicable standards. Responsible for internal audits, corrective action system, calibration, management reviews. Partners with Purchasing as it relates to the qualification, communication and monitoring of suppliers. Hosts customer and third-party audits. Ensures quality organization supports customers, both internal and external.

Assists peers by assuming responsibilities within their functions e.g., in sales, operations, supply chain, outside services, etc. Assists in development and implementation of company-wide training. Measures and monitors continuous improvement activities. Oversees Quality function's budget and ensures it supports company's budget plan. Ability to fill in for Quality Engineers at any time. Member of the senior management staff. Uses Industry Standard tools, teachings and technologies, Lean, Six Sigma etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operational Excellence
  • Support the Director, Manufacturing Operations in defining and executing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives aligned with MPG strategic plan & the 0DOVER Operational Excellence Model to achieve business objectives.
  • Assist in measuring results and establishing improvement objectives for KPI's in the following areas:

  • Safety (TRIR, DART)

  • Quality (Scrap as a % of COGS, Warranty as a % of COGS, DPPM)

  • Delivery (Factory to Promise, Factory to request, Competitive Market Leadtime)

  • Productivity / Cost Improvement (as defined in 0DOVER OpEx Model)

  • Culture

  • Fostering a positive employee relations environment through building a culture where employees are motivated and actively engaged in driving continuous improvement in the business.
  • Coordination and Supervision
  • Coordinate, manage and monitor the working of quality personnel and processes in the business.
  • Financial
  • Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Prepare and control operational budgets. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.
  • Best Practices
  • Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Human Resources
  • Plan the use of human resources. Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise staff. Monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Production
  • Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, pricing and shipment of product. Monitor performance and implement improvements. Ensure quality of products. Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity. Manage, coordinate, and oversee the maintenance and calibration of equipment and machinery. Provide technical support where necessary.
  • Communication
  • Document, monitor, manage and improve the quality processes of product lines. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.
  • Sales, Marketing and Customer Service
  • Coordinate customer facing quality function support. Support sales and marketing activities for quality function.
  • Strategic Input
  • Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for quality function and activities. Implement and manage operational plans for quality function and activities.
  • Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and legislative directives.
  • Results oriented
  • Deliver targeted results and work effectively in a matrix style environment.

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS/BA in Engineering, or technical field required. Masters in related field preferable

  • Minimum 10 years of quality or equivalent experience in electronics manufacturing

  • 5 years Aviation, Space, and Defense industry experience required with a working knowledge of Aerospace contract requirements as well as industry standards (AS9100, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)

  • RF Filtering / Microwave product manufacturing experience preferred

  • ASQ Certification desirable

  • Technical expertise and knowledge of company products

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft suite
