Job Description:

Manage the Quality management system throughout all facilities. Duties include and are not limited to:

  • Establish and manage QA staffing on each hull to meet approved EAC's. Apply resources to support Manufacturing needs in a timely manner.

    Work with QA Team to ensure an environment of professionalism and professional development. Assure each group is keeping safety a top priority. Assure adherence to all safety policies and procedures.

    Maintain environment of clear expectation setting and of meeting commitments. Ensure that the Local S7 and BMDA labor contracts are implemented fairly and consistently. Identify opportunity for improvement in the QMS and in our daily processes.

    Lead the development of those opportunities to assure full implementation of requisite process changes. Lead projects as assigned by QA Director

Required/Preferred Education/Training

  • Bachelor Degree in manufacturing, technical or business related field, BIW Apprenticeship program graduate or a combination of education and experience required.

Required/Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 8-10 years working in a shipyard or large manufacturing environment required.

    Experience with Quality Assurance preferred.

    Strong, effective leadership and communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict and multiple priorities required. Demonstrated ability to prepare and make oral and written presentations to senior management and customer required.

    Excellent administrative skills: effective interpersonal skills, strong, demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication, problem solving/decision making, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. Demonstrated self-starter that is confident interacting with managers throughout the Shipyard.

In this unique role you'll have extensive exposure to our Navy customer, our exciting ships, and the value chain that makes it all happen. Candidates who exceed the required education and background will be considered for a project manager position. The role's core responsibilities include:• Developing cost proposals for new Navy and commercial work with accurate, achievable hour/material cost estimates • Reviewing / researching historical data and compiling summary reports to develop and maintain installation standards for use in estimating change work• Preparing estimates by calculating various statistical data such as costs per labor hour• Creating financial models utilizing Excel functions and Access data queries• Verifying change work scope via ship checks and technical drawing reviews Required/Preferred Education/Training * Shipyard manufacturing experience is preferred * A High School Diploma is required * A combination of a degree in Engineering, Business or another Technical field is desired Required/Preferred Experience Estimating Analyst II: * Shipyard manufacturing experience is preferred * Demonstrated analytical skills * Average Microsoft Excel skills with the willingness to improve * Confident communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization Estimating Analyst III: * 5 years of experience in a technical field, business (Cost Accounting or Finance), or manufacturing field * Bachelor's Degree is required * Excellent Analytical skills * Advanced Excel and Access skills * Strong and confident communication skills with all levels of the organization * Financial model experience is desired Must be eligible to obrtain a security clearance.
