Description:
Reporting to the Director, Public Safety, this position is responsible for managing and overseeing the Public Safety department and a variety of functions and duties that ensure the security and safety of all of the Medical Center's buildings and campus to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and foremost, the personal safety of staff, physicians, patients, volunteers and visitors.
1.Associates degree is required. Bachelor's degree in Safety, Criminology, Criminal Justice, Security Management or Police Science is preferred.
2.Five (5) years of public safety experience is required.
3.Three (3) years of management or supervisory experience, preferably in a hospital environment, is required.
4.Current Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Guard Card registration is required.
5.Valid California Driver's License and a good driving record is required.
6.Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required.
7.Completion of the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety, Supervisor course within six (6) months of hire into the position is required.
8.Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
9.Ability to exercise sound reasoning and confidentiality while maintaining a tactful demeanor in all dealings and interactions with patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers and staff is required.
111 Ability to operate motor vehicle, two-way radio, camera, and electronic surveillance equipment is required.
Experience in electronics, video surveillance cameras and access control are preferred.
Knowledge of basic fire procedure, emergency evacuation procedures and crown control is preferred.
Experience with aggressive patients and application of least restrictive techniques, including de-escalation techniques preferred.
Four (4) years of Emergency Preparedness or Disaster Planning experience is preferred.
Knowledge of The Joint Commission (TJC) Environment of Care standards is preferred.
Knowledge of lean management principles are preferred.
Pay Range ($36.02 - $54.02)
