Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing public relations activities that help build and maintain a positive public image for NYBCe, our business units including LFKRI. In partnership with NYBCe senior leadership, Corporate Communications, divisional leadership, and all major departments, the role will require significant project management related to earned media efforts that shape public opinion of NYBCe.
The Manager of Public Relations will serve as a one of the spokespeople for NYBCe and will assist in the drafting and editing press releases, coordination of media interviews, dissemination of talking points to appointed NYBCe media representatives, and will engage in other efforts that help elevate the NYBCe brand and maintain a positive public image.
Write and edit press releases and media advisories to optimize earned media coverage for NYBCe, divisions and business units.
Serve as an on-camera spokesperson for NYBCe, divisions and business units.
In partnership with Risa-Heller PR Firm, manage incoming media inquiries, identifying spokespeople for on-camera interviews and disseminating talking points as needed.
Partner with internal marketing, recruitment, and corporate communications teams to maintain a master calendar of PR activities across all NYBCe divisions and business units.
Track and report on earned media coverage.
Write, maintain and disseminate up-to-date talking points to internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain up-to-date News Pages on all divisional websites.
Where appropriate, provide speaking notes and other public relations support for NYBCe events.
Demonstrate ability to work cohesively with a team and collaborate interdepartmentally.
Develop beneficial relationships with senior leaders, senior management, and business and community leaders.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications or a related field.
Experience:
Five years' experience working in Public Relations, Communications or a related field.
Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the requirements listed above that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $120,00.00 p/yr. to $130,000.00 p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
