Job Description
The Project Manager will be the leader directly responsible for the successful completion of all assigned projects. This includes taking ownership for collaborating with Subject Matter Experts to create, organize, and execute on project plans, as well ensuring effective cross-functional communication for project status, needs and changes. In addition, this includes in-direct leadership to assist/coach projects led by individuals in other business groups in terms of staying in line with business needs and following appropriate processes. Typical project management work includes managing relevant employee team members, setting deadlines, communicating with company executives about the state of the project, ensuring projects stay on track and on budget, and adjusting if necessary to meet new requirements.
The starting salary is $90K; commensurate with experience.
A Day in the Life:
The Project Managers will be working with cross functional teams daily and driving projects across the Hertz Dollar Thrifty Organization. Attending meetings, ensuring that the projects are moving, and that appropriate updates are being communicated and issues / concerns escalated. This person will be working with multiple functions daily and participating in planning, execution, and documenting projects for North America.
What You'll Do:
Review and monitor status of projects and work with project managers and Senior Management to appropriately escalate risks, issues, awareness, and resolution.
Engage with key internal business stakeholders to communicate status of projects and resolve project risks and issues.
Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects
Serving as the point of contact for projects when multiple groups are participating to ensure that all are aligned
Communicating with leaders or executives to keep the project aligned with their goals, as well as ensure deliverables are met
Lead a continuous improvement mindset measured with operational metrics and KPls.
Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
Perform follow up on projects after implementation to ensure that the intended result is being achieved
Stay current with market trends and innovative thinking related to technology governance and project management functions
What We're Looking For:
5 years' experience within Hertz and/or in Project Management
Four-year college degree or equivalent experience in Business, Finance, Economics or like preferred
Moderate proficiency in Project Management Systems
Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations
Ability to influence
