ROLE SUMMARY

The Manager, Project Management leads the technology transfer for clinical &/or commercial vaccine, biotherapeutic, and rare disease drug substances and products. The Manager, Project Management has the responsibility for complex projects or for areas of large projects and/or programs by providing significant day-to-day project management and leadership direction and contributes to the identification and planning of broader objectives.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides leadership in the development of strategic planning efforts for site master planning and new product conceptual studies.

  • Lead complex projects that are critical to site business plans and product launches.

  • Evaluates and defines approach for project execution.

  • Interfaces with various Pfizer site locations, development organizations and key business partners.

  • Assumes full responsibility for a project, ensuring quality of all work carried out.

  • Preparation of comprehensive internal and external presentations encompassing all relevant areas of a project is required.

  • Has reached a high level of expertise in project management.

  • Demonstrates expertise in product lifecycle support that includes technology transfer, production, validation and / or commercialization of a biopharmaceutical drug substances and products and/or vaccines

  • Successfully interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization, including senior internal and/or external personnel on matters often requiring coordination between organizations

  • Facilitate solutions to complex problems which requires the use of ingenuity, innovation, and creativity

  • Displays strong initiative and commitment to the successful, on-time completion of projects

  • Produce high quality project reports and presentations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/MA minimum of 7 years' experience, MS minimum of 4 years' experience, Ph.D. up to 4 years' experience in a pharmaceutical environment supporting technology transfer, production, engineering or process development

  • Proven cross-functional exposure to at least two of the following areas: Engineering, Technology, Manufacturing, Quality or Materials Management, in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry

  • Familiarity/experienced with technical transfer of vaccine and biotherapeutic products

  • Familiarity/experienced with biological CMC requirements

  • Understanding of commercial manufacturing requirements

  • Understanding of Right First Time and Lean manufacturing tools and strategies

  • Experienced project manager having demonstrated successful completion of major programs/projects as part of a team and/or in a project leadership role

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, meeting deadlines, and working well under pressure

  • Good verbal and written skills. Must be able to articulate issues and solutions to the team and upper management.

  • Good leadership and team building skills capable of leading diverse multidisciplinary teams.

  • Demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Position requirements are typical for an office-based work environment. There are no unusual requirements for this position.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL, OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

The role of Project Management Manager typically works a routine weekly work schedule but requires some travel, domestic and international. 5-10% travel may be required.

In this role, the Value Stream Manager will be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the manufacturing operation through the deployment of the Lean methodology. This Value Stream Manager will be responsible for identification of continuous improvement initiatives. You will: * Lead and manage a manufacturing department(s).
