The Global Mile Finance team is seeking a Manager, Program Management to lead PMO for global logistics cost, economic modeling and financial automation projects.

This is a new role that will focus on providing finance partnership and leading finance product development for our dynamic and rapidly growing partner, Amazon Global Mile on integrating and developing global products and capabilities. The role will lead the integration and development of financial processes including financial transactions, cash flow management, credit control, intercompany, management reporting and financial planning.

The Manager, Program Management will collaborate with business and finance functional teams to establish the right ownership of the financial activities, and set up financial process to effectively support business growth and manage cash flow. The person will create and execute technology roadmaps for the related financial transactions, and will help develop effective milestones and launch schedules for this work. The ideal candidate will anticipate and resolve bottlenecks while balancing business needs and escalating where appropriate.

Acting as the finance controller, the person will manage the financial health of the product portfolio. The person will be responsible for weekly and monthly metrics reporting, monthly and quarterly business review, and financial analysis to support performance management and decision making. The person will lead the planning process from top line development to productivity improvement, and support long term business strategy formation.

The right candidate will blend strong critical thinking, tactical finance operations experience, and proficiency in financial process development and change management, while understanding and further developing our financial applications.

  • Bachelors' degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering and/or similar discipline with analytical bias

  • 5+ years of experience in a program management or finance operational role

  • Master's degree in Finance/accounting or MBA

  • Good knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS

  • Solid experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

  • Highly analytical, detail oriented and a demonstrated strong sense of business management; proven ability to develop new ideas and ability to deliver solutions

  • Experience working with reporting tools (Essbase and/or Cognos)

  • Knowledge of Manufacturing, Distribution Center or Logistics processes and systems a plus

  • Proficiency in Excel (pivots, index match, look-ups, etc.)

  • Proven SQL ability (query writing, updating, validation)

  • Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills working with peers and various levels of management

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment;

  • Ability to hire and develop Program and Product management talent

  • Highly organized, ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little to no guidance and tight deadlines

  • Demonstrated financial and/or analytical experience including familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and/or data interpretation and analysis

The VCDR team within CPBU is the newest SaaS service offered by VMware, and it is key to several initiatives in the BU. A centralized cloud disaster recovery service is our starting point and over time we look to address a $10Bn TAM with several additional services. We are looking for an expert Staff Technical Program Manager to manage programs and collaborative projects in our team and manage service/product releases across multiple service and product lines. You will be joining the team at an exciting time and opportunity for growth. Job Description * Own the success of more than one SaaS service and one on-prem product lines. Drive the planning and execution of releases from concept to GA. Lead a delivery team of Product Managers, Engineering, QE and other functional teams to deliver throughout all the release phases. * Process-owner of anything that touches engineering (SDLC, Jira, Bugzilla, SFDC, product branching, etc). The key goal is to have just enough processes - going as fast as possible while preventing big mistakes is crucial. * Ensure PM/Eng interactions happen on backlog grooming, release planning, and communication of status. * Work with the engineering team to identify and remove cross product roadblocks early in planning phase. * Make constant assessment of feature pipeline, work done and work quality to support decision making on release delivery dates. * Drive and own product releases and feature reviews. Surface any issues in these realms. Be 2-in-a-box with eng leadership on all engineering projects. * Ensure release tasks beyond engineering are on track * Product branch * Docs, localization, etc. * test plans (QA + interop) * white papers * legal review (3rd party vendors, privacy, patents, etc.) * Security reviews * Ensure QA + Support have a "voice" in product requirements * Release manager * Manage extensive release runbook, service rollout/upgrades, and all deliverables for more than one SaaS service and one prem product * Ensure interop with other teams' releases * Work with support on roll-out plan, including on-prem transition from ACL > available to all criteria * BU Rep to Business Readiness group * Engineering representative to ensure that dependencies on other BUs and teams are tracked and are on track * Work with customer support, who are part of our engineering team. Escalation path to engineering from support (and any other team) if "normal" escalation channels fail for some reason. Ensure RCAs happen for escalations. * Drive service compliance activities in conjunction with VMW compliance teams Requirements * Degree in Computer Science, Business, Electrical Engineering, or related field. * 10+ years of experience running software engineering and project/program development management. Practical experience in Agile methodologies and in running cloud-based projects. * Practical experience program-managing Software-As-a-Service products and cloud-based services. Solid knowledge in cloud technologies and DevOps practices. * Experienced in software development and project/program management fundamentals (software development life cycle and quality processes, such as scoping, costs, schedules, deliverables, change and risk management, and mitigation). * Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills. * Exceptional skills influencing, teaming, and getting things done in a highly complex and nebulous environment.
