The Manager, Production Control will be responsible for overseeing the planning of operations workload and effectively communicating with all departments while maintaining and guiding wave planners to the most productive and efficient work flow throughout the DH.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Directs and supervises wave planners to ensure waves remain on schedule and that all orders are planned and prioritized in order to meet or exceed customer expectations
Strategically plans the daily operations workload for the DH and monitors/maintains operations balance throughout the DH
Instructs wave planners to manage a constant and steady flow of orders and advising the operation when the work is/will be limited
Coordinates special, last minute order requests with the customer service, operations and transportation groups
Notifies the operation team of all requested changes from the customer regarding scheduling, processing and shipping
Responsible for following orders through the entire process, ensuring orders are 100% completed and all waves are cleaned from the wave screen as efficiently as possible
Identifies internal processes within the department to utilize Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques to reach the strategic objectives of the operation as well as to accommodate and create increased demand/capacity.
Ensures that all customer orders are waved and processed in order of priority
Provides critical business updates to ensure successful operations
Builds and maintains effective relationships with business partners outside of the DH
Effectively lead production meetings with multiple departments and levels of leadership
Develops and maintains robust reporting
Ensures operations planning meets cost per unit and carton per hour goals
Creates and implements appropriate operating systems and audits to support the accuracy of sales order fulfillment.
Creates and maintains required efficiency standards throughout all processes within distribution.
Ensures that customer product is compliant according to compliance manuals.
Supports and drives a safe and clean safe work environment.
Continuously learn, coach and deploy teammates on Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques.
Ensures the overall goals are achieved, as well as the individual goals of the department.
Interacts daily with team to support and strengthen team engagement.
Communicate policy changes and new programs to the department.
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing daily work assignments; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE/CRITICAL SKILLS
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in related field; or four to six years related experience in a distribution or warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
At least 2 years of experience in supervising others.
Experience in the apparel industry strongly preferred.
Highly skilled with database/spreadsheet programs, and specifically MS Office programs (MSWord, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Experience with MRP software package is required. ( WMI, SAP, FMS)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee regularly is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb and stoop.
The employee may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The essential functions of the job are usually performed indoors and may rarely be performed outdoors, including during both hot and cold weather. Work performed will be near or involving moving mechanical equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
