Overview

The North America Enterprise Security Solutions (ESS) team is responsible for MasterCard's safety and security related product development and sales efforts in the North America Region. The products that we support help to protect the integrity of the electronic payment system as well as ensure payments are simple, safe and secure. The products are primarily focused on authentication, fraud prevention, risk mitigation and dispute resolution across all payment channels as well as all Mastercard stakeholders; issuers, acquirers, merchants, processors and consumers.

The Manager Role Product Specialist will: (1) compile, monitor, analyze and report on business metrics for issuers authorization/declines to identify areas of improvement to help facilitate the sales process and inform internal stakeholders, (2) consult with customers to identify products, processes or solutions that can lead to improvement, based on data-driven analysis and (3) lead the sales of specific Mastercard ESS solutions within the North American Region to existing customers and prospects.

Role:

  • The position will be part of the ESS Product Sales team, which is focused on leading the sales of the Mastercard Enterprise Security Solutions products within the North American Region to customers and prospects while working closely with internal business partners to develop opportunities to increase Mastercard share of business.

  • This role will focus on the identifying new sales opportunities and optimization process (compile, analyze, monitor and report on business metrics) of transaction authorizations and declines in order to recommend solutions such as Account Level Management, Automatic Billing Updater and Decision Intelligence or ways to optimize existing solutions through consultative engagements (Mastercard Advisors or Professional Services).

  • This is a customer-facing role which requires exceptional business development and strategic selling skills.

  • Accountabilities are to grow Mastercard and customer revenues through optimization and sales efforts while acting as a key conduit for information sharing between customers and Global Product and Solutions (GP&S) and Mastercard Advisors.

  • The individual chosen will also be responsible for providing ESS strategy and sales support for a specific set of products to Client Relationship Managers (CRM) and Mastercard US Market Development (USMD) and their existing customers and identified prospects.

  • Coordinate with CRMs and Global Product and Solutions (GP&S) to develop compelling business cases and deliver quantifiable solutions for customers and prospects based on customer needs and requirements.

  • Represent voice of customer by communicating market feedback and opportunities to GP&S with the goal of refining existing solutions and developing new solutions

All About You

  • Experience in financial services or payments fraud/risk business preferred

  • Experience with identifying sales and optimization opportunity through data analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to act with a persistent and relentless sense of urgency

  • Strong analytical skill set and ability to translate metrics into opportunity for Mastercard and value for the customer

  • Ability to develop sales strategies to align to the needs and comprehension of the audience

  • Sales strategy development and execution/management of sales pipeline

  • Strategic planning, relationship management and project management

  • Strategic/consultative selling to large, complex financial institutions, governments or merchants

  • Self-starter, highly organized, collaboration minded and results driven

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a matrix/team environment and manage key customer relationships

  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Overnight travel required (30%)

  • Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferable)
