Manager, Product Marketing
Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Product Marketing Manager opening to join our Laundry organization on the Product Planning & Strategy team.
The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing Laundry Category Insights, Product Plans, and Strategic Projects for the Whirlpool Corp. portfolio of brands. This person will work closely with consumer insights, brand marketing, merchandising, global consumer design, platform engineering, and advanced development to execute our five year product roadmap. The Product Marketing Manager is also responsible for understanding competitive activity and marketplace trends.
Deep consumer insights and marketplace understanding
Develop knowledge gaps and learning plans for category
Generate consumer insights and Voice Of Customer (VOC) to drive consumer-driven decision making
Marketplace analysis and competitive assessment
Macro-trend analysis & Foresight for Category impact
Define benefit opportunity areas to steer innovation
Lead ideation & validation process to select innovation priorities
Maintain long term 'vision' of laundry and define holistic consumer experience
Set Strategic direction and Category-specific needs to deliver long-term plan
5 year product roadmap and ideal PTS that delivers on brand product leadership
Robust consumer driven innovation cadence by brand
Define market segmentation opportunities and prioritization
Opportunity projections & size of prize by segment
Category resource planning and prioritization, including Factory Master Planning
Lead Whirlpool Planning Process and product plan integration with GPO
Drive Planning trade-off decisions for the Category
Drive projects from Advanced Development (A0 - A2) to Production Project Readiness (thru G1)
Develop concept consumer solution requirement and market potential
Insight/problem, target consumer, lead benefit story, validated brand concept
Translate Voice of Consumer to Voice of Engineering (e.g QFD)
TAM, Feature value, business case assumptions
Exemplify a mindset focused on the consumer, trade customer, competitor, and company everyday
Work with finance team to develop and present project business cases including pro forma financials, capital requirements, and other financial and non-financial decision metrics
Act as a primary marketing contact for your product category for Insights, Strategic Planning, and Strategic Projects.
Ability to travel (~25%)
Ability to travel internationally, if necessary
Minimum 5+ years experience in Product Development or Brand Leadership
Degrees in Marketing and/or Business, MBA a plus
Passion for the consumer and the trade customer
Excellent analytical skills
Good communication and presentation skills
Great work ethic, resourcefulness and willingness to learn
Proficient computer skills, with experience in Google Slides and Google Sheets a plus
