The Manager, Product Marketing, B2C Hardware leads and manages one or more B2C segments
within the Printer / Scanner categories. The Product Manager, with direction from senior management, sets the strategic direction for the business for key initiatives that drive brand performance. This position builds and executes plans to deliver on short term and longer term financial goals, all while maintaining the needs of the brand. This role leverages a keen view of the external environment, including general trends impacting the business, competitive assessments, and an understanding of both consumers and customers, to drive results.
Duties and Responsibilities
Product Management & Business Development
Lead and manage one or more B2C segments within the Printer/Scanner categories
Set the strategic direction for the business, including product marketing decisions on advertising, promotions, product changes, product development, pricing, retail programs, and other key initiatives that drive performance
Organize and make recommendations on new product developments, working closely with domestic and international counterparts
Manage full-cycle product maintenance, from development to end-of-life for assigned segments
Act as subject matter expert on assigned segments, including in-depth knowledge on customers (channel partners & end-users), buying habits, and consumer wants/needs.
Collaborate with direct marketing team to design communication and promotional plans
Brainstorm initiatives & programs from a business development perspective with the goal of increasing revenue
Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders (including international) to produce all necessary marketing materials, including but not limited to: launch announcements, brochures, FAQs, etc.
Execute on determined marketing initiatives, producing necessary deliverables, class-of-trade material, and coordinating assistance from various support units
Business Analytics & Reporting
Proactively evaluate and analyze assigned segments for all classes of trade, providing insight and recommendations to the business
Track sales results as compared to budget, organize the relevant information, and report out to team members
Facilitate regular forecast meetings with sales teams on all assigned segments
Sets market-segment KPI's and determines necessary actions to achieve them; follows through on execution
Collaboration, Presentations, & Training
Act as primary contact for Japan Headquarters as related to assigned segments
Train team members on products on a regular basis, including the development of training materials and associated presentations to be delivered
Support sales team in preparing assortment decisions and create account level presentations with guidance from internal team
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
Master's Degree or Master's of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred
Minimum of 7 years - experience in Product Marketing Management, preferably in consumer electronics or similar field, is required
Experience & proven track record of growing business within large accounts (Office Super Stores, Online & Consumer Electronics accounts) is required
