GEICO is seeking an accomplished, customer obsessed, and results oriented Manager, Product Management to join our Sales Product Team.

This position is preferably a hybrid role, however, exceptional remote candidates will be considered.

Hybrid locations include: Washington, DC, Fredericksburg, VA, San Jose/San Francisco, CA, Chicago IL, Seattle WA, New York, NY, and Indianapolis, IN.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining, building, and launching experiences, products, and/or capabilities that accomplish product-market fit and deliverable measurable value to GEICO. This role requires the ability to shift between Vision, Strategy and Execution at different times throughout the day or week, depending on the context. This role will have a strong emphasis on sprint-team leadership and delivery elements with additional opportunities for Product Discovery work.

The ideal candidate:

  • Understands when to shift between Vision, Strategy, and Execution modes depending on product/feature maturity and product lifecycle context

  • Is exceptional at eliciting and defining functional and non-functional requirements that Business, Technology, and Design teams easily understand

  • Is exceptional at identifying, facilitating, and concluding trade-off discussions with stakeholders

  • Is exceptional at leading a sprint team of cross-functional partners focused on a common goal, including hosting team-level Agile ceremonies and developing a healthy backlog in advance of delivery

  • Possesses a bias for action and data-driven decisionmaking. They roll up their sleeves and seek knowledge about the data, the architecture, the customer needs, the business goals, or any other domain that contributes to defining problem-solution fit and delivering value

  • Is comfortable navigating product discovery and synthesizing insights from data and/or research. Experience leveraging clickstream tools, session replay tools, analyzing business/market data, reviewing customer research, etc. is preferred.)

  • Is a team player, highly collaborative, and genuinely enjoys working alongside other Product Managers with similar/adjacent goals

  • Is self-motivated and eager to develop as a Product Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Define and own the 6-9-month feature roadmap to drive priorities for your team taking into value creation and cost to create value

  • Translate business and customer needs into insights, hypotheses, and functional/non-functional requirements that Designers and Technologists use to build experiences, products, features, and capabilities

  • Have an end-to-end understanding of features and how they fit into the larger ecosystem to be able to anticipate impacts from changes in other parts of the business

  • Work closely with tech leadership and architecture to understand the tradeoffs of technical decisions and how they impact the customer experience

  • Rally teams and senior stakeholders to your product direction and proactively leverage relationships throughout the ecosystem

  • Leads at least 1 sprint team of cross-functional teammates and owns the direction, backlog, and delivery plan

  • Reports on feature performance to stakeholders demonstrating incremental value creation

  • Encourages adaptability informed by emerging solutions, industry trends and changing customer needs

  • Defines scalable product solutions by deep knowledge of internal and external customers habits

  • Understands technology concepts and how underlying product services perform across channels and customer touchpoints

  • Fosters a strong agile discipline and inspires teams to continuously improve delivery through understanding of key agile metrics

  • Identify and measure feature KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), with an eye to adjusting and refining your roadmap as the data dictates

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience preferably in Agile product management
  • 3+ years of experience translating Features into Consumer or Associate facing products
  • 3+ years managing all aspects of a product feature throughout its lifecycle from concept to delivery
  • 1+ years leading, mentoring, and coaching product managers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High sense of accountability and strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to influence across the organization

  • Insurance industry experience preferable, not required

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • Agile certifications preferred (i.e., SAFe, Scrum Alliance, Scrum.Org, ICAgile, PMI-ACP)

Annual Salary

$86,000.00 - $154,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
