Are you interested in the creation of market changing insurance products? The Individual Life Insurance Product Strategy Team is seeking a Manager, Product Development to join our team.

This role, reporting to the Director of Product Development, will design illustrations that help consumers, and their advisors, solve complex financial needs in support of Prudential's goal of being a Life Insurance Leader. It requires a strategic mentality to define and refine illustration solutions to ensure alignment to our product strategy. This is a hands-on role where you will work independently while collaborating with key partners to drive delivery of illustration solutions that balance the interests of customers, distributors, regulators, and other team members.

The current EWA for this position is Hybrid or Virtual. If local, it requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

For Virtual: While this position does not require your on-site presence on a regular basis, depending on business preferences, there may be occasions where you are required to be on-site at a Prudential office.

What you can expect:

  • Design illustrations for launches of creative products or product enhancements, as well as for improvements to the customer experience, for Prudential's individual life platforms

  • Expand deep understanding of the product portfolio, including key sales strategies and industry trends

  • Partner with product strategy, marketing, competitive intelligence, distribution, and advanced planning on positioning of the customer value proposition of our products

  • Provide subject matter expertise, support, and guidance throughout the illustration's software development lifecycle

  • Amplify deep knowledge of illustration regulations and incorporate them into product requirements

  • Liaise with Compliance area to ensure innovative illustration designs are aligned with regulatory needs

  • Proactively identify and resolve issues and obstacles

What you'll need:

  • Solid understanding of the individual life insurance business and/or financial services experience is preferred

  • Ability to champion an idea from inception into a full proof of concept with defined outcomes

  • Ability to develop successful business relationships (partner) with various business units and systems partners

  • Capacity to think strategically and analytically to connect a variety of internal and external inputs into a vision and direction, including the ability to foster agreement amongst cross functional teams

  • An ability to quickly learn product details, illustration regulation, and tax codes and apply acquired knowledge meaningful to the position

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that includes technical writing skills: the ability to write documents and other communications that are clear, concise and complete

  • Ability to navigate technical constraints and propose alternative solutions

  • Ability to successfully influence and collaborate with professionals at all levels and functions

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to quickly determine and (as needed) change priorities

  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, high pressure work environment to ensure project deadlines are met

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $115,800.00 to $172,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
