A&M's Supply Chain Operations professionals assist our clients in analyzing each part of the supply chain process including: Procurement and Sourcing, Production, Logistics, Distribution and Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SI&OP) to identify value creation opportunities, develop a roadmap to accelerate those opportunities and assist with driving them to our client's bottom line. From our thorough fact-based analysis, we assess the state of operations, identify key risks to investment and quantify potential EBITDA improvement plans.

Professional experience:

We are seeking individuals that can lead and deliver project work streams for complex client engagements working closely with Private Equity teams to identify, design, and implement creative business solutions for their portfolio companies.

Managers lead the following types of workstreams and may be asked to both conduct analysis as well as lead teams to deliver results:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of a client's procurement organization and strategic sourcing capabilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet growth and financial objectives through effective integration with forecasting, demand/supply planning, inventory management, and distribution & logistics

  • Develop and manage efforts in sourcing and procurement

  • Lead supplier identification, approval, contract/pricing negotiations and vendor relations

  • Develop implementation plans to drive proposed changes in procurement and sourcing initiatives

  • Effectively perform analysis and/or lead teams to conduct analysis depending on project scope.

Qualifications:

  • 10 plus years of combined consulting and/or industry operating experience

  • Preference for industry roles within Sourcing and Procurement functions

  • Previous advisory experience from a top-tier strategy firm or Big-4 consultancy HIGHLY DESIRABLE

  • MBA preferred

  • Experience working for or with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies.

  • Deep industry expertise in direct materials such as: steel, resin, commodity chemicals, packaging, food/beverage, automotive, textiles, solvents, plastics, polymers, adhesives, pulp and IT

  • Demonstrated track record of leading sustainable high-impact strategic sourcing approaches

  • Exemplary experience designing end-to-end procurement strategies

  • Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis

  • Flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time

VIEW JOBS 3/27/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-25T00:00 Job Description: Summary of Job Purpose and Function The primary purpose and function of the Strategic Sourcing Manager is to maximize value in the assigned product and service category(s), primarily Indirect (i.e., IT, Facilities, Travel & Meetings, etc.). The role is responsible for managing key supplier relationships, leading cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, and ensuring the hospitals have an uninterrupted supply of quality goods and services. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will collaborate extensively with the other Procurement functions, Marketing, Medicine, Pricing and Field Operations and will develop, foster, and maintain effective communication within this stakeholder group and VCA's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Mars Veterinary Value Team (MVVT). Essential Responsibilities and Tasks * Negotiate price, terms, conditions, and supplier returns/allowances and serve as a point of contact on contracts. * Implement new and renewed contract terms and services, coordinating with related teams. * Negotiate and set up confidentiality and purchasing agreements with suppliers, understanding ownership and rights as it pertains to intellectual property. * Develop appropriate supplier relationship management strategies, analyzing cost reductions and supplier performance improvement opportunities or risks. * Partner with Finance to determine input for the business operating plans, regularly communicating any risks and opportunities or variances versus plan. * Maintain strong business relationships with suppliers, seamlessly incorporating appropriate strategies and tactics to creatively solve issues / negotiations. * Define best practice Supplier Relationships Management techniques and metrics to measure supplier performance, leading teams in the review process with ability to leverage capabilities for the most effective relationship. * Incorporate finance theory into sourcing strategies, performing investment and outsourcing decision analysis for the business. * Lead group planning sessions for difficult negotiations, setting limits and developing counter tactics. * Provide coaching and support to others during the negotiation preparation phase. * Interpret and evaluate contract provisions, conduct research on requirements, evaluate findings, and make recommendations. * Conduct spend, specification, demand and market analysis to identify / evaluate value opportunities. * Develop sourcing strategies, build a scope, stakeholder map, sourcing approach and spend analysis. Identify current and future business needs, business capabilities and constraints.
