Position Summary

Gain understanding of Pinnacle's current network and how M&OP is handled. Create strategic game plan for M&OP to include opportunities and gaps. Coordinate with and understand Enterprise Procurement, Operations, Sales & Operations Planning, Research & Innovation, Brand Management, Sales, Finance, CPS, Engineering and Logistics. Drive innovation, renovation, risk elimination, cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives across designated Pinnacle locations. Provide single point-of-contact for plants / co-packers to and from Enterprise Procurement. Partner with associates on projects and work streams as needs and priorities warrant.

Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key Procurement champion to gain clear understanding of current process and opportunities. Understand and be part of new product and renovation projects working closely with S&OP, Marketing, Sales, R&I, Category Management and the Plant Procurement team to ensure supply of packaging and ingredients supporting all new product launches, understanding risk, identify and work to elevate potential DDD.

  • Work closely with Transportation Procurement, Enterprise Procurement, Platform Operations, Platform S&OP, Production Facilities/ Co-Packers, Marketing and Suppliers to identify and implement Cost Reductions opportunities.

  • Provide procurement representation on projects to ensure successful and on-time implementation.

  • Support assigned locations to identify and resolve material supply risks.

  • Forecast and mitigate obsolescence.

  • Drive consistency across plants as it relates to best practices in raw material procurement and supplier relationships.

  • Ensure effective implementation of Enterprise Procurement projects within assigned brands/plants (co-packers). Drive data gathering and risk/reward analysis on all purchasing bids and specification change initiatives. Proactively communicate new business activity to Enterprise Procurement to ensure competitive pricing for all new cost inputs.

  • Drive supplier performance and cost control initiatives for assigned brands/locations. Work with Category Managers and Suppliers to shorten material lead times and develop "innovation" focus.

  • Guide efforts with the Procurement team and Plant Procurement team to assure timely supply of packaging and ingredients and identify alternate specification opportunities where appropriate. Resolve supply risks as identified.

  • Play a key role in implementing, driving and streamlining the supply chain process across the organization. Focusing on plant level requirement system improvements where appropriate.

  • Additional duties as required.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required; supply chain management coursework/certification is preferred.

  • 5-7 years' experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing roles preferred

  • Strength in the following skill sets: Verbal, written, analytical, and problem-solving.

  • Experienced in leveraging vendor relationships and achieving sizable cost savings from strategic cost reduction programs.

  • Project management

  • Develops strategies and takes them through implementation.

  • Understanding of economics, technical issues and ability to perform independent value analysis and value engineering

  • Negotiation and contract-development.

  • Must be results-focused.

  • Flexible and customer/client service oriented.

  • Superior problem solving skills and the ability to think "outside the box".

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen.

  • Desire to approach work as a continuous learning opportunity.

  • Travel required up to 25%

  • Overall operations/marketplace knowledge (Experience in more than one category is preferred)

  • Familiarity with e-procurement technologies and systems integration.

  • Demonstrated understanding of material requirements planning.

The successful candidate for this role will be accountable for research, high-level problem resolution, master data analysis, transaction processing and report running they must have the ability to champion a cause and collaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement process improvement opportunities. Position Responsibilities * Run various reports on a scheduled basis and provide supporting analytics * Manage procurement master data in SAP and right angle to help drive process efficiencies. * Enter orders, contracts, and/or raw material sales orders into SAP as needed based on category strategy * Build relationships with various cross-functional contacts * Support business process improvements and documentation * Provide research and analytical support for various issues and ad hoc projects * Develop an understanding of SAP MRP processes and data * Develop an understanding of market dynamics and cost drivers. * Develop an understanding of company facilities and requirements, capabilities, processes, and constraints.
