Position Summary

The Manager, Pricing and Contracts works as a member of the Marketing Team, reporting to the Sr. Director of Marketing. The position will manage all Pricing related activities including the development, review, changes and approvals of new and existing customer contracts within the company. The position will interact interdepartmentally with Legal, Finance, Sales and Operations. In addition, the position will develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, corporate and site personnel and act as an internal consultant on maintaining a robust contracts process.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with Sales Team to ensure accurate and timely response to Requests for Proposal (RFPs). Including Terms & Conditions review, Profit & Loss (P&L) preparation/review, RFP price file completion, and RFP submission.

  • Maintain a calendar of contract expiration dates as well as historical bid cycles to ensure we are proactive in addressing upcoming business needs.

  • Provide in depth analysis of financial impact of all offers (Profit & Loss) analysis.

  • Provide information for Senior Management approval of price changes when sales team submits Right of First Refusals (ROFRs) for consideration. Facilitate decision making and ensure timely customer responses.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the current generic market place for all products in the portfolio.

  • Track and maintain a database of competitive pricing, price changes, launches, and business opportunities (wins and losses on RFPs).

  • Facilitate product offers to customers by maintaining a consistent format for written offers (for both new and existing products). Providing offers to Sales Team for customer consideration.

  • Communicate all price changes to the wholesalers for indirect contracts.

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of contracts in place, provisions that need to be considered such as rebates or administration fees as well as renewal dates.

  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Service Teams to ensure effective communication with all customers with respect to contracts, price changes, rebates, chargebacks and bill-backs.

  • Work closely with Accounting team to ensure all rebate and other liability is captured in accruals.

  • Work with Legal team to ensure that all contracts have been reviewed and approved before appropriate signature of Corporate Officer.

  • Develop, enhance, and document controls over gross to net accounting.

  • Review all rebate, promo and shelf-stock adjustments for compliance with contracts.

  • Conduct various ad-hoc analyses as required.

Experience and Qualifications:

Education

  • BS/BA Degree required.

Industry Experience Required

  • One to three years' specific pharmaceutical experience in pricing and contracts.

  • Pricing Analyst/Manager level experience preferred

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical government pricing statutes, regulations and agency guidance.

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly and accurately interpret and communicate procedures and policies.

  • Extensive experience interacting with other functions, including IT, Legal, Accounting, Marketing, Operations and Sales.

Specialized Certifications/ License/Training

  • Experience with I-Contracts a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Computer Skills

  • Excellent analytical skills and experience with PC database management (Microsoft Office and SAP).

  • Proficiency in Word and Excel required.

Analytical Problem Solving Skills

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative & problem solving skills.

  • Ability to review and note contract issues, provide language change recommendations and negotiate issues with customers and internal stakeholders.

Communication Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task; excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

Working Environment:

The working environment demands of this job are physically and environmentally center around characteristics and abilities involved in this work. The work environment considers the risks and discomforts in the physical surroundings and the nature of the work assigned to ensure that all safety regulations and techniques required to perform the job are precautions practical to eliminate all risks.

  • Work is sedentary. No special physical demands required to perform this work.

Environmental

  • Work is regularly performed inside in an office and manufacturing environment. Requires use of personal protective equipment in designated areas. Must exercise extreme safety and precaution at all times in all designated cGMP areas in the facility

  • The work area involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, etc. Use of safe work practices with office equipment required.

  • Work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
