As our Manager, Plant Controls (Engineer), you will provide technical support for controls infrastructure. This role will be the subject matter expert for the plant on controls, including controls design and retrofit. Additionally, you must have a strong passion, drive, and ability to eliminate maintenance losses in the site by using proven technical tools to develop strong maintenance strategies for both new and existing equipment. This role will be a leader in maintenance improvement tools (PM optimization, RCA, FMEA, etc.) and knowledgeable in controls, mechanical, electrical, and systems integration.

Key Responsibilities and Job Duties

  • Analyze performance data to find permanent solutions to systemic issues.

  • Be the controls expert in the department; assist in troubleshooting electrical and controls issues; maintain backups for all system devices.

  • Create performance related presentations with action plans.

  • Work with planners to standardize electrical parts in the storeroom.

  • Understands how to read and translate the information found within all: PLC code, Schematic wiring, Ladder and P&ID process diagrams.

  • Expert skills with PLC, HMI, VFD's, Servo, Sensors, Instrumentation and industrial control systems, including advanced programming techniques and configurations.

  • Possess knowledge and apply safe electrical work practices including LOTO and Arc Flash safety

  • NFPA 70e.
  • Master troubleshooting of Industrial Networks, including Ethernet, DeviceNET, ControlNET, and others.

  • Provide effective advanced trouble shooting support, following best practices for safety and fault isolation.

  • Capture description and procedures used for troubleshooting and repairs performed in CMMS.

  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs or modifications with minimal manufactures specifications and documentation.

  • Continuously maintains state of the art proficiency in Automation and controls systems.

  • Obtains, drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed, from files or other sources. Makes any additional sketches, diagrams, etc., necessary.

  • Gains complete knowledge of plant's processes and packaging systems.

  • Adheres to common Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in the execution of the work schedule and operational support. Ensure the shop is maintained in a safe and orderly fashion.

  • Attends meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Recommends equipment to be included in preventive maintenance programs.

  • Suggests improvements to all maintenance processes, including planning scheduling, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, CMMS, storeroom operations, etc.

  • Promotes the conservation of energy.

  • Possesses an understanding of calibration procedures for process instruments, which measure temperature, pressure, flow, level and composition, along with an understanding of process controls and troubleshooting.

Pay Range:

$105,000 - $129,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.

Annual Incentive Reference Value Percentage:

15
