Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing the strategic direction, performing the financial planning and executing the overall growth strategy for the Aggregates line of business. Supporting the Aggregates operations team, this position will evaluate opportunities, develop financial models, and work to execute and move forward transactions. This position is an integral part of the Strategic Planning Team with great exposure to the overall senior management of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Creates market intelligence and demand analysis with a focus on maximizing profitability by product and by segment.

  • Analyzes market share and competitor dynamics

  • Develops financial, product, pricing and costing models and valuations to support aggregates for the region

  • Understands macroeconomics and potential impact on aggregates

  • Assists with developing business cases for aggregate capital expenditures

  • Monitors and helps assist with maintaining and tracking all aspects of aggregate costs related to all aspects of aggregates for the region

  • Assists with developing and maintaining the annual aggregates budgets

  • Supports annual business enterprise for the strategic planning process

  • Leader of due diligence for potential projects - from identifying to closing the sale

  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management

  • Achieve and/or maintain Zero4Life

  • Responsible for meeting all MSHA, environmental and local safety requirements


  • 5+ years of experience in construction materials industry. Aggregates experience preferred.

  • Direct experience executing M&A transactions (both acquisition and divestitures) from start to finish

  • Bachelor's Degree with a focus in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering

  • Masters in Finance or MBA preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expert Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills as well as strong utilization of Microsoft Office Suite required

  • Advanced financial capabilities and project management skills required

  • SAP knowledge preferred

  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work in a fast paced and high volume environment

  • Excellent negotiating, influencing and communication skills with the ability to manage relationships and work across all levels of the business and with diverse stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • High sense of urgency, detail oriented and ability to drive results quickly in a fast paced environment

Working Conditions

  • Capable to work extended hours as needed

  • Capable of working in an office environment and at times working remotely from home as needed

  • Ability to participate in required overnight travel as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to significant degree to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position.

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time.
