Manage planning, purchasing, inventory management, and projects for finished products that are manufactured by and/or purchased from 3rd party suppliers and Alcon affiliates, including pharmaceutical, surgical, consumer and Sandoz products.
Housekeeping: Promote/reinforce company and department HSE standards, through regular communication, training, and reminders.
Planning: Monitor team progress versus objectives versus goals, and communicate results to associates.
Track, evaluate and report the trend of key quality indicators to determine need for corrective and preventive action. Manage the department operating budget, and monitor, analyze, and control expenses versus budget. Develop and communicate annual budgets for each product and supplier.
Technical: Develop, communicate, and manage Master Production Schedules and related planning activities for 3rd party suppliers and Alcon affiliates based on forecasts and strategic business goals.
Negotiate supplier schedules, manufacturing constraints and logistics/transportation issues. Manage finished goods inventory levels to support sales goals, attain customer service level goals, minimize backorders, and optimize inventory investment. Manage logistics and transportation for incoming deliveries to support inventory and customers service goals while minimizing freight costs.
Initiate, approve, and manage purchase orders for inventory and projects, ensuring accurate costs, delivery instructions, and delivery dates. Develop and manage supplier relationships and partnerships, including resolution of issues related to communication, cost, quality, and supply chain. Establish and lead regular and ad-hoc teams and meetings involving representatives from suppliers and multiple disciplines within Alcon to ensure focus and provide direction.
Organize, facilitate, and lead multi-discipline teams to: launch new products and promotions; facilitate changes to BOMs, specs, and artwork for existing products; and support business goals related to 3rd party suppliers and Alcon affiliates. Recommend and manage manufacturing site changes, capacity requirements changes, and capital investments to support strategic goals.

Hire, train, coach, and evaluate associates. Collaborate with HR to correct performance and behavior problems through counseling and disciplinary action.
