Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
A. Educate & Develop
Actively recruit all Store Personnel
Educate and develop all Store Personnel
Holds one on one coaching sessions with all staff members every quarter, or more often as needed
Understands labor costs; Schedules staff in line with customer count and budgeted wage %
Accurately prioritize job responsibilities so that highest level of customer service is provided.
Able to direct the work of other employees and lead by example.
Communicate with store associates so that they are informed of pertinent operational and policy changes.
Manages employees in accordance with legal and company guidelines; Follows the company's progressive discipline policy
Ensures all issues, personnel, safety, and operational are corrected without delay.
Offers suggestions for changes and improvements to Supervisor.
B. Customer Service
Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding service by ensuring that store experience is Fast, Friendly, Clean and Safe.
Has some idea of local customer needs and special events
Keeps current on competitors offerings
Solicits feedback from customers; Provides that feedback to supervisors
Actively suggestive sells items and promotions
C. Operations and Inventory Management
Knows metrics for the site including, performance of products, fuel pricing, and sales volume
Completes all store paperwork, enters vendor invoices, and approves employee timecards daily
Works to ensure all employees on their shift operate within company guidelines to achieve sales and profit
Responsible for the inventory process: How it works, how it affects the store, how to order, how to handle problems and can investigate discrepancies
Follows correct vendor check-in procedure and ensures authorized employees do so as well
Follows company policy in regard to store emergencies and accidents, excessive cash in registers and safe security
Accurately posts markups and markdowns, store use of merchandise, voids, and bad-merchandise write-offs, within established guidelines.
Walks complete site in detail each day.
Protects company assets at all times.
D. Food Service Operations
Ensure appropriate deli inventory levels at all times by ordering product in a thorough, efficient, and timely manner; Ensure build-to's of warmers and coolers are followed and adjusted as needed
Assign specific prep lists and follow up with employees to ensure completion
Prepare, to order, all food items to the satisfaction of companies and in accordance with recipes
Label, date, rotate, and store all items properly to control waste
Maintain health and sanitation standards for self and employees. Knows food safety.
Continually work to increase deli sales
E. Merchandising & Maintenance
Maintains all merchandising standards, display presentations, signage standards, and monitors inventory levels.
Ensures tasks are completed on shift and windows, floors, counters, shelving, and gas pumps are clean at all times.
Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
Oversees any maintenance problems to ensure they are reported and corrected timely
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must demonstrate previous management experience.
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required to meet the business needs of the store
Ability to provide clear direction for the team while communicating and enforcing policies and procedures
Must demonstrate exceptional integrity and judgement to make timely decisions
Must have some proficiency on the computer
Must have valid driver's license and transportation
1.Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area and climb ladders
2.Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.
3.Ability to perform repetitive standing, stooping, and bending as necessary.
4.Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store, including bagging ice, generally weighing 0-50 pounds.
5.Ability to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.
6.Ability to sweep and mop floors, dust shelves, bend and clean areas such as bathrooms, and lift and carry out trash containers and place in an outside bin.
7.Ability to clean the parking lot and grounds surrounding the convenience store.
8.Ability to stand up for at least a 10 hour shift.
9.Ability to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 28 degrees and a freezer of 0 to10 degrees below zero.
