Job Description Summary:

The Manager, Global Partnerships & Client Solutions, will be responsible for maintaining, broadening, and deepening relationships for a segment of the assigned markets and target client base to increase client participation across the full suite of CFA Institute programs and initiatives.

The Manager will work closely with members of the Client Partnerships & Solutions team, and members of the division and wider organization, to promote engagement with multiple CFA Institute constituents to execute our organizational strategy, achieve our stated objectives and deliver on our mission.

The Manager will report to the Director, Partnerships & Client Solutions. The position will be based in New York City and is eligible for hybrid working, including three days per week in the office.

Job Description:

The requirements for the Manager, Global Partnerships & Client Solutions include:

Client Relationship Management & Development

  • Manage and develop client relationships, broadening and deepening the range of services and offerings we provide to them to foster growth, profitability, and client satisfaction, focusing on target markets.

  • Own and foster strong collaborative relationships with multiple key contacts within client organizations locally and across markets where applicable, including investment professionals, human resources professionals, recruiters, practitioners, and leadership.

  • Articulate, document, and report on client engagement and governance plans including setting goals, running regular client meetings, reporting on progress, gathering and sharing insights, proposing solutions, and fulfilling requests.

  • Build strong relationships with institutional stakeholders and CFA Society leaders in target country markets to educate, engage, and deploy resources leading to effective planning and implementation of mutual objectives and tested practices.

  • Accountable for gathering and sharing intelligence from clients and helping to gather insights from prospects and potential partners to provide the 'voice of the customer' to other internal stakeholders.

Business Development

  • Identify & follow up business development opportunities with key clients and/or partners to ensure successful delivery of client solutions, contract negotiation, and end-user product registration.

  • Manage relationships with clients to understand client business models, strategies, structure, objectives, challenges, and budgets, to identify and address needs and strategic focus areas.

  • Prepare, participate in, and deliver persuasive stakeholder-focused presentations about CFA Institute, CFA programs, and other CFA products and services.

  • Develop and maintain internal and external communication processes and utilize CFA Institute systems (e.g. Salesforce) for effective communication, record keeping, and budgeting.

  • Develop and assist others in developing, maintaining, and updating marketing collateral and other presentation and outreach materials.

  • Represent CFA Institute in front of diverse stakeholders such as employers, universities, societies, and regulators to support outreach efforts.

  • Partner with corporate support functions such as Finance, Legal, Compliance, & Governance; Finance & Enterprise Risk; IT; and People & Culture to provide input and participate in organization-wide business development processes, product, and project evolution.

Society Relationship Management

  • Partner with societies to develop effective outreach programs to industry, regulators, and universities, and to increase local educational programming.

  • Assist in supporting societies to raise standards and professionalism, through building a strong understanding of their markets, stakeholders, regulatory and cultural contexts, and developing joint strategies and business plans to ensure the long-term recognition and value of the CFA brand and charter.

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with society volunteers and staff, and collaborate with them to identify, develop, and implement initiatives leading to the achievement of shared targets and objectives.

The skills and experience required for the Manager, Global Partnerships & Client Solutions include:

  • Ability to collaborate, build strong relationships, and influence to ensure communications align with strategic priorities.

  • Strong relationship management disciplines. Ability to prioritize and adapt to evolving priorities working effectively on multiple opportunities with different deadlines.

  • Very high level of organizational and time management skills, with the flexibility to juggle competing priorities and changing expectations.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within education, financial services, sales, or account management.

  • Excellent communication skills including native-level English written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills.

  • Highly articulate possessing the requisite gravitas to be able to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally

  • Structured thinker with demonstrated ability to successfully plan and execute medium-long-term projects

  • Excellent consulting, problem-solving, analytical skills, prioritization assessment, and attention to detail.

CFA Institute salary ranges will vary by geographical location. In compliance with the New York City salary disclosure law, the anticipated base salary for this role in New York City will range between $109,800 and $183,000. Salaries are determined based on the candidate's relevant experience and skills, as well as internal equity.
