Under the direct supervision of the Director, Pharmacy, the Manager, Operations- Clinical Pharmacy Services is responsible for directing clinical activities of pharmacy personnel to ensure rational use of medications through appropriate pharmacy intervention and education of professionals.
Coordinates clinical activities such as DUE and ADR monitoring, financial analysis and quality assurance performance.
Supervises clinical and satellite pharmacists' activities.
Oversees training of new pharmacy employees, interns and externs.
Develops, implements, and maintains clinical skill development and competency training for staff pharmacists.
Develops, implements, and maintains inservice requirements for all pharmacy staff.
Maintains relationships with colleges and the quality of teaching affiliations.
Organizes drug information services including providing information for P&T Committee.
Coordinates pharmacy portion of drug studies.
Develops and implements new clinical pharmacy programs.
Writes and/or edits pharmacy newsletter.
Organizes and delivers internal and external educational programs relating to the pharmacy.
Provides expert technical and/or professional assistance as needed.
Performs duties of Operations Director and Staff Pharmacists as necessary.
Attends continuing education programs to remain abreast of current pharmacy practices and to maintain licensure.
Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.

Complexity of Work:
Three years formally organized clinical education and/or experience or Pharm.
Five years experience as staff pharmacist.
Two years experience as clinical pharmacist.
