This is a people manager opportunity within the Infrastructure Services and Operational Support (ISOS) team, Edge and Network Services Support. The ISOS team consists of Program Managers who design, implement and continuously evolve the existing Operational Practices of Facebook's data centers and networks. This team builds processes and tools to allow Facebook to scale. This role will include direct management of a team of program managers who oversee the buildout of tooling to scale across various asset lifecycle activities within the data center and network spaces from design to decommissioning. This position will be located in Menlo Park, CA with national and international travel required.


  • Work with your team to align network tooling programs to large strategic tooling objectives and big bets and ensure they understand the big picture and goals

Empower your team to work with the various engineering teams in a matrix organization to design and develop scalable solutions that meet the goals and objectives of our network connectivity teams

Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery

Responsible for people management of a team of 5+, providing performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth for direct reports

Focus on growing and building a strong, productive, and satisfied team

Perform risk management and change management on projects

Empower your team to build tooling around end-to-end business processes currently used and identify where and how tooling solutions will aid with streamlining and scaling the processoptimization is key

Manage the resource allocation and team optimization for effective service delivery

Manage expectations of all interested parties: define clear roadmaps with key deliverables and milestone dates, provide frequent program updates, and identify and communicate risks and adjustments to the overall program


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
    8+ years of work experience in Network-centric product management: building scalable platforms, driving enterprise tooling initiatives, and translating strategic initiatives into software product roadmaps
    10+ years experience managing a team of employees

Experience building a team through continual coaching and career growth opportunities

Experience collaborating with different individuals across the organization, within other geographies, and experience "rolling-up the sleeves" in order to accomplish all necessary tasks

Experience understanding application requirements and translating needs into implementation plans

Systems development and deployment experience


  • Master's degree in computer science

Associate level network certifications (CCNA or JNCIA) or higher

Experience with Software Defined Network(SDN)

Experience with robotics, machine learning, and computer vision

Web or Internet start-up environment and technical infrastructure management experience

Familiarity with the scrum methodology

The objective of this role is to improve operational effectiveness and organizational health by: assessing and creating visibility into current operational effectiveness (e.g., budget analysis and forecasting, gaps surfaced in operational metrics); recommending solutions to drive greater scale and efficiency in the GMS Learning team; project managing the development and implementation of a sub-set of these solutions; developing standards and processes that sustain operational effectiveness solutions over time. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the Organizational Development field, the challenges that tend to appear as organizations evolve, and the most effective solutions for addressing them; is highly analytical, using data and problem-solving techniques to understand root causes and develop effective solutions; is a great communicator, simplifying complex topics to accelerate discussions and action; is a natural relationship-builder, able to work with colleagues of different skill levels and personality types; can manage large-scale initiatives, and diverse stakeholders, independently, knowing when and how to adapt course to meet objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide ongoing visibility into GMS-L spend vs. budget trends for GMS-L leadership by (a) implementing process to categorize and track historical budget/spend, and capture future spend forecasts, and (b) producing and presenting monthly updates on budget/spend status and highlights for GMS-L leadership meetings Work with Finance partners and GMS-L teams to implement — and monitor adherence to — process to ensure GMS-L follows budget and purchase protocols (e.g., no "after the fact" violations) Work with Procurement partners and GMS-L teams to organize our vendor partnerships, ensuring that the correct steps are followed in onboarding and managing these partners, and that all processes are documented and accessible Partner with GMS-L colleagues to ensure the team's GMS Hub web site is maintained and is organized in a way that makes it easy for stakeholders to find the information they need. In addition, provide quarterly updates to GMS-L leadership on usage trends on the web site to see if there are any adjustments to make based on expectations Manage GMS's "Launchpad" intranet site (also on GMS Hub) to ensure that GMS-L colleagues have a one-stop-shop for accessing all shared resources Work with Finance, People Analytics, and GMS Ops partners to create visibility into future GMS learning needs (e.g., number of audience roles in different locations) and then with GMS-L Leads to create and optimize a model for the resources required to support those needs. Provide this input at least once annually during the Investment Case process Identify ways to improve operational effectiveness by monitoring GMS-L operational health metrics (e.g., NPS, survey response rates, ILT drop-off rate, ILT fill capacity) and working with teams to identify and troubleshoot priority gaps. In addition, collect and analyze stakeholder input on overall organizational impact, and areas for improvement, on an every 3-6 month basis Manage the tracking of progress on broad GMS-L wide goals and Big Bets, and provide project management expertise and advice to owners of those initiatives Support efforts to improve and document GMS-L processes and roles and responsibilities, helping teams work through challenges related to these topics Manage GMS-L talent resources, keeping them up-to-date as needed.
