What You'll Do
Operations Manager is responsible for supporting, identifying, maintaining and implementing operational best practices nationally for Employee Benefits, keeping in alignment with the long-term strategic plan. Key areas of focus for this position will include management of agency management system (AMS) and all related workflows and processes, supporting onboarding of new acquisition partners and managing employee benefits AMS migration for new acquisition partners.
Assists with the execution of multiple agency acquisitions each year.
Works closely in collaboration with the Partnership Engagement Leaders and National Employee Benefits Leaders to plan, coordinate and execute employee benefits integration strategies for newly acquired entities.
Prepares and contributes to communications and documents to implement process and structure with new acquisitions.
Perform tasks, activities and presentations on implementation plans as directed by management.
Leads employee benefits AMS migration for new agency acquisitions in close collaboration with and at the direction of the retail partnership engagement team.
Aids and consults with IT on system data integration.
Conduct on-site and virtual Business Operations Analysis for new partners.
Conduct on-site and virtual AMS training for new partners.
Makes Employee Benefits related workflow decisions and recommendations, ensuring consistency with national requirements while also allowing flexibility for unique market needs.
Serve as AMS system and outsourcing liaison for Benefits projects and initiatives as prioritized by Benefits leadership and enterprise operations group.
Participate in projects and the evaluation and implementation of workflows and AMS features to ensure maximum operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Responsible for the development, implementation, training, and management of standard operating procedures related to AMS.
Ensure and manage data quality.
Involved in evaluation of new systems and technology related to AMS.
Assists in the development and utilization of standardized reports via AMS or Power BI.
Trusted advisor and resource to teams related to operational functions.
Liaison to outsourced operational partners and provide recommendations related to utilization, staffing, workflows/processes, training, task management and process improvements to maximize staff use and improve margin.
Collaborates with and influences key stakeholders across the organization.
You Should Have:
5+ years of similar or related experience, with knowledge of the employee benefits insurance industry.
Advanced knowledge of agency management systems software, preferably Applied Epic.
Experience with MS Office products required.
Good organizational and planning skills, with a proven ability to manage time well in a fast-paced, ever-changing, team-oriented environment is required.
High level of integrity and strict adherence to protecting confidential information is required.
Excellent strategic, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Understanding the big picture, with an eye for detail.
Process driven and highly organized.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in the operational integration of mergers & acquisitions is preferred.
Limited travel required (15%).
Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
