Job Summary:

Leads the analysis of production efficiencies and costs, providing related management with timely reporting and support, and driving actions to drive efficiency and improving cost performance. This position can be based out of one of our CA facilities in Sacramento, Salida or Turlock.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and maintains annual plant budgets and resulting standard cost production models which include raw materials, labor, overhead, and packaging.

  • Communicates with plant management and Finance teams regarding production and standard cost challenges and variances.

  • Leads monthly financial closing functions related to manufacturing costs.

  • Reconciles production orders, analyze cost variances, and provide insight to Plant Management and Planning teams.

  • Leads analysis, reporting and reviews of labor and overhead spending and absorption budgets and variances.

  • Oversees opportunity and risk assessments and identification of action plans to mitigate financial variances.

  • Engages in financial leadership on major Capital projects, including in-depth ROI metrics and sensitivity/risk analysis.

  • Leads/facilitates Blue Diamond's Margin Enhancement initiatives, with active support of the role's specific manufacturing site.

  • Provides appropriate business support, including, but not limited to, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improving reporting.

  • Prepares audit schedules for areas of oversight.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • 5 years of professional cost accounting or production plant finance management experience.

  • Prior people management experience.

  • Must be able to communicate and interact effectively, both verbally and in writing with a broad spectrum of internal employees including all levels of management.

  • Must be a proactive team player with the ability to demonstrate cooperation and work in cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to present complex financial data effectively to executive level contacts.

  • Must have thorough knowledge of analytical techniques and procedures.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of SAP Production Planning and Product Costing.

  • Effective use of reporting tools and personal computer software (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint etc.).

  • Must be organized and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, quality and quantity of work performed.

  • Must be able to work independently under minimal supervision.

  • Up to 50%-day travel

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • 8-10 years of professional cost accounting or production plant finance management experience.

  • CMA or MBA

  • Change management and the ability to diligently address all aspects of a business process.

  • Strong analytical disposition with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective in working independently or in a team environment.

  • Strong problem solving and negotiation skills.

  • Desire to learn and face new challenges.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Adaptable to changing environment.

Performs key activities to drive improvements and efficiencies with the site operations supporting all shifts and departments as needed. Supports the capital expenditure process, continuously improves records management and communication systems, and coordinates with the purchasing department to ensure proper supplies are secured and within budgets. Assists in driving Lean Manufacturing practices by developing factory visuals and tools to help establish proper 5-S/VFM protocol. Plans and coordinates events that include different shifts (day, night, graveyard). Job Description: * Gathers, analyzes and leverages operations data (quality, safety, performance, service, and costs) executes support tasks drive plant improvement. * Drives Lean practices across the organization. * Prepares internal and executive level reports, spreadsheets, and presentations as needed to ensure that the information is properly leveraged and communicated with the key stakeholders. * Supports site operations to provide proper communication of relevant safety, quality, service, and performance updates through various communication methods. * Manages content on all digital plant bulletin boards. * Facilitates visits, tours, factory calendar, employee involvement activities, and charitable activities for the site. * Responsible for coordinating events that take place at the Salida site. This includes being able to interface well with internal and external customers, auditors, suppliers, and executive level managers, team members, and various other external and internal customers. * Plan and coordinate events and meetings for three different shifts (day, night, graveyard). * Support management with ensuring proper supplies and tools are in place to minimize disruptions throughout the operation (could include coordination with procurement, vendors, and suppliers). * Ensures timely and accurate processing of PCard/expense reports transactions on a monthly basis to meet internal and corporate deadlines * Coordinate and anticipate calendaring for Site to ensure proper resource allocation and advanced planning for projects, events, and initiatives.
