KPMG is currently seeking a Manager/Director in Risk Strategy & Compliance - Operations & Compliance Risk for our KPMG Risk Consulting practice. Los Angeles-CA, Atlanta-GA, Charlotte-NC, New York-NY


  • Act as subject matter expert on Payments ecosystem, related products, interfacing systems, infrastructures and corresponding architecture

  • Drive the shaping of payment solutions, leads solution workshops, facilitates conversations with clients and develops relevant architecture

  • Effectively communicate payments logical and/or physical design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Talk authoritatively around modern payments (including legacy) trends including Payment Service Hubs, ISO20022, and Real-time payments

  • Understand the key elements of payments technical design and integration, and their end-to-end flows; the relevant enterprise and industry solution architecture standards; understands challenges in integrating Payments Systems with surrounding financial ecosystems and how to work effectively in differing organizations with higher or lower skill levels

  • Broadly understand implementation/development methodologies such Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid and promotes / integrates with clients' Project Management methodology

Additional Responsibilities for Director:

  • Lead and coordinate domain architects in achieving a common set of objectives; create and participates in the establishment of reference architecture and domain models for Payments systems and related applications

  • Understand the managed architecture domains to a sufficient level to direct high level outcomes and understands large program management and how architecture is coordinated into the program; promote the development of technical infrastructure/architecture and standards

  • Continually evaluates and analyzes Payment related technology trends and market offerings, and updates / aligns KPMG thought leadership to identify ways of improving payment processes as well as underlying architecture


  • A minimum of five years of experience in Commercial Banking, Treasury Services, Cash Management, and/or Retail Banking and experience in front and back office operations, sales and service, document imaging, branch image capture, payables, receivables, liquidity management, credit card processing, and exposure to business-to-business financial supply chain is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited college/university required, Master's degree in computer science or related field from an accredited college/university and prior consulting experience preferred; Enterprise Architecture Framework certifcation such as TOGAF or Zachman or similar is a plus

  • Large bank and/or Payment Service Provider experience required; Deep, end-to-end understanding of payments processes

  • Previous experience managing end-to-end architecture for payments-related client implementations

  • Travel may be up to 80-100%

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Additional Qualifications for Director:

  • A minimum of eight years of applicable recent work experience

  • Demonstrated track record of leadership, client management, project management and delivery, and business development

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior executives

Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success, the Financial Aid Operations and Compliance Officer will administer, monitor and troubleshoot CUNY financial aid systems as well as Federal and NY State systems in order to ensure integrity of student databases and timely and accurate delivery of funds. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: * Work closely and collaboratively with the Assistant Vice President and Financial Aid Director to plan strategic direction of the college's Financial Aid operations and ensure the financial aid systems complement and benefit the daily operations of the Office. * Oversee and ensure current financial aid systems operation comply with federal, state, and local programs, overseeing technical operations associated with the delivery of federal, state and city financial aid programs including processing applications, and awarding and disbursing funds. * Develop and implement ongoing enhancements to financial aid web site, web applications, interactive forms, and multi-media content. * Develop, recommend and implement new financial aid systems to improve efficiency and integrity of information. * Serve as the College's Compliance Officer for all federal, state, and local financial aid programs assuring compliance with all regulations that govern the disbursement of financial aid to students. * Interpret and effectively communicate federal, state, and local regulations specific to Title IV funds for administrators, faculty, staff, and students. * Maintain a thorough knowledge of all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to federal, state, and local financial aid programs including PELL, TAP, Stafford Loan, Perkins Loan, and College Work Study programs * Maintain and interpret statistical data and prepare required federal, state, and local reports * Train, and supervise financial aid office professional and clerical staff on new or changed programs, systems, or policies. * Conduct periodic assessments of internal procedures and provide recommendations to the Director and Assistant Vice President on all aspects of program operations and compliance. * Develop and initiate strategies to deliver high quality, enhanced financial aid services and delivery systems, streamline processes and procedures, provide efficiencies and enhance overall effectiveness of those services. * Take a leadership role in working with CUNY and external auditors to answer questions and resolve audit issues. * Manage internal and external communications systems to inform students about financial aid programs, awards, policies and services. * Serve as trouble shooter and resolve escalated issues related to financial aid systems. * Represent the College at various campus, university and external meetings. * Ensure institutional compliance and reporting requirements related to R2T4 policies, procedures and calculation in conjunction with the Department of Education and the Office of University Controller. Successful candidate must be available to work evening and weekend hours. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.
