Summary of Job Description:

The Manager of Workforce Programs is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and promotion of workforce and continuing education programs. This role involves staying abreast of job trends, conducting needs assessments, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of training solutions. This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Workforce. This is an exempt position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Keep up with job trends and on-demand occupations that need training.

  • Promote all workforce and continuing education programs offered by LIT.

  • Conduct needs assessments and provide workforce training solutions.

  • Maintain and manage a training calendar.

  • Collaborate with workforce department personnel to update website with new course offerings and workforce initiatives.

  • Advise, consult and assist special partners in designing and developing program curriculum and course materials for online and in-person workforce education courses.

  • Draft a narrative report of training progression each week/month.

  • Prepare reports for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of continuing education programs, using metrics and feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Become familiar with software systems used by LIT in the function of this job.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by LIT Workforce Officials.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited university.

  • Three years of work experience in higher education

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A master's degree from a regionally accredited university, preferably with an instructional design concentration.

  • Above average skills in the utilization of computer systems, Banner, and Microsoft Office applications and experience in Workforce Development.

Salary $45,000 Work Hours Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EEO Statement
