Evans Distribution Systems, one of the area's leading logistics providers is looking for a Manager of Transportation and International Operations for our Transportation division in Brownstown.
Position Overview:
The Manager of Transportation and International Operations is responsible for the supervision of Evans' non-asset-based transportation division. Manager of Transportation and International Operations is ultimately responsible for meeting revenue goals through the management and development of existing and new customers, as well as through the maintenance and development of a comprehensive carrier network ensuring adequate load coverage and competitive pricing.
Essential Job functions:
Ensure all aspects of the Brokerage operation is managed and maintained:
All loads are booked, and carriers are monitored to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
All loads are covered at lowest possible cost while maintaining a profit level as determined by the Vice President of Transportation
All outside carriers are being contacted for load status and ETA's.
Customers are notified of any activity concerning their shipment.
Sylectus is updated and all customer related websites as requested.
Ensure all Internet Load Boards are utilized for finding loads and back hauls as needed.
Prepare and present proposals, respond to requests for quotations and follow up on all prospective customers in a timely and professional manner.
Develop and issue competitive, yet profitable rates as part of the proposal process.
Conduct regular rate reviews and implement rate increases as necessary and feasible.
Provide accurate and timely information to operational staff regarding new business or changes in existing business.
Increase business from existing customers by developing and maintaining relationships and understanding our customers' changing needs and priorities.
Assist with POD and BOL collection for invoicing and carrier payment.
Supervise, support, and develop Logistic Coordinators and Admins
Any other tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Transportation
Emergency availability and coverage availability
Requirements:

General office and computer experience is necessary.
