Create a model program to lead and supervise the activities of the transmission field operations and maintenance staff; work closely with AEPCO Members to ensure a high level of communication, cooperation, coordination, safety, quality and reliability in support of Transmission asset improvement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
10 years' experience in the electric utility industry, 5 years of related supervisory experience.
BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, preferred.
Practical experience in managing the installation and maintenance of high voltage power delivery systems. Experience with both transmission and distribution systems a plus.
Practical understanding of operating and maintaining transmission lines, substations, relay protection, communication and fleet maintenance.
Sound knowledge of safe maintenance practices including electrical clearance procedures and OSHA rules.
Knowledge of maintenance planning, schedules, and budgets.
Effectively communicate expectations and desired results.
Knowledge of contracts and contracting.
Understanding of bargaining unit labor contracts.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience can be substituted for requirements listed above.
ESSENTIAL AND MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervise and direct the transmission maintenance team in the analysis of maintenance problems and preplanning/scheduling of preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
Most cost effective operation and maintenance of the Transmission System that provides for the highest system reliability.
Ensuring the appropriate level of staffing, equipment and tools.
