Position Title Manager of Technology for the Zarb School of Business and Assistant Director of Graduate Business Career Relations Position Number 897084 School/Division School of Business Department Full-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description

Reporting to the Executive Director of Graduate Business Career Relations, the Manager of Technology for the Zarb School of Business and Assistant Director of Graduate Business Career Relations is responsible for managing the technology resources of the Zarb School of Business including the Core Skills Lab, and for assisting the Graduate Business Career Relations Office with data management and survey responses. This position will also be responsible for assisting graduate MBA/MS/EMBA/Online MBA & JD/MBA business students in the full-time and part-time programs regarding career development, employment and internship opportunities and other career-related experiences while representing and developing the Zarb School of Business graduate students to the employment and alumni communities. This position is also expected to support faculty and departmental technology needs. Additional evening and weekend hours may be required in support of special projects, travel, and events.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists Zarb faculty and the Dean's office with technology in the classroom, curriculum, and communication with stakeholders.

  • Provides training for faculty in classroom technology and other systems within Zarb.

  • Liaises with Hofstra ITS to facilitate Zarb needs regarding equipment and software from evaluation through procurement.

  • Manages the Microsoft EXCEL certification for Zarb students and provides assistance to students sitting for the certification exams.

  • Presents periodic reports to the Dean's Office on the EXCEL certification at Zarb.

  • Manages the operations of the Core Skills Lab, including hiring and overseeing of student aides.

  • Responsible for maintaining lab hours, and conducts presentations and demonstrations to faculty, students, and visitors.

  • Responsible for maintenance of lab resources and equipment, and for identifying new resources for the Core Skills Lab.

  • Assists in analyzing and interpreting data, generating analytics, and effectively communicating results to internal leadership, external benchmarking, and peer comparisons.

  • Designs, implements, and manages innovative strategies and mechanisms to ensure data collection processes.

  • Gathers, prepares, and summarizes the collection of information through survey tools.

  • Recommends statistical approaches and conducts and reports analysis at regular intervals, outlining effectiveness of Career Center programs.

  • Serves as the lead administrator for graduate business career services technology, data, and reporting.

  • Manages the tracking of academic internship registration.

  • Manages the Handshake System, used for registration and tracking of student activities, employer outreach and activities, event registrations and Job/Internship Fairs.

  • Implements promotional and marketing strategies for technology tools, such as Hiration, LinkedIn Learning, Management Consulted, Forage and Handshake.

  • Creates, administers, and analyzes surveys to gauge student, alumni, employer satisfaction, and graduate outcomes.

  • Plans, implements, and coordinates advertising of the master calendar of events/programs using all social media platforms and the internal Hofstra systems to various constituencies as well as web development knowledge.

  • Assists in managing business specific spaces such as Martin B. Greenberg Trading Room, Behavioral Business in Research Lab, Cybersecurity, and the immersive classroom.

  • Assists in managing business specific software, licensing, and training.

  • Assists the Dean's Office with special technology projects.

  • Contributes to the ongoing development of the strategic vision and goal setting focusing on innovative solutions for all graduate business career services, programs and communications to all constituencies including students, alumni, faculty, university partners and corporate clientele.

  • Trains and develops incoming and current students in career development workshops/orientations such as Resume Development, Interview Strategies, Leveraging LinkedIn, Job and Internship Search, and Networking.

  • Develops and manages all aspects of event planning such as career related Executive Speaker Events, Corporate/Alumni Panels, Networking Events, Corporate Information Sessions and Visits, NYC Experiences, and Leadership Seminars for students.

  • Provides one-on-one and small group career coaching to students and alumni on career planning and development topics.

  • Proactively tracks the progress of internship and full-time career outcomes of the graduate student population.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Five or more years' experience in industry, consulting, or higher education administration.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Skilled technologist able to collaborate with faculty on leveraging existing tools to meet course learning goals and delivery methods.

  • Ability to administer and interpret various career assessments.

  • Proficient in data analytics and metrics and using information to shape outcomes.

  • Team player in a high functioning department who can work in a fluid environment with shifting priorities.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently, collaboratively, and with great levels of responsibility.

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business preferred.

Salary/Salary Range $90,000 - $100,000

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
