We are seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting to join our growing team!
Community Brands is seeking a skilled technical accounting manager to join our team in our technical accounting department. In this role, you will bring a systematic and disciplined approach to building company policies as well as working with business partners to implement new policies. You will also be responsible for working with business partners to provide technical accounting guidance related to acquisitions, debt transactions, etc.
For success in this role, you'll bring a thorough knowledge of technical accounting and audit, as well as keen business judgment. Suggesting new initiatives, controls, and procedures to ensure good business practices are in place. Working to ensure new and existing policies are established and regularly updated. Advanced skills in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) are your forte and are required.
We're looking for an energized and motivated individual with a proven capability to develop strong working relationships with cross-functional partners and various levels of management throughout the company. Your core competencies will include analytical, presentation, technical, and organizational skills.
A Day In The Life
Gain in-depth understanding of the Company's operation models and business strategies.
Provide guidance on accounting interpretation and prepare technical accounting memos on US GAAP matters.
Ensure appropriate documentation of accounting treatment of complex and highly judgmental areas, including analysis, relevant literature, and conclusions.
Partner with FP&A and business function leaders in monitoring operations and reporting of key accounting areas: internal use software, intangible, lease, and etc.
Provide accounting guidance related to proposed transactions to support due diligence, special transactions, and acquisition related accounting needs.
Develop framework of company policy and draft accounting / finance policies and other related authorization matrix.
Partner with business function leaders across the company to implement, update, and monitor policies.
Contribute to development of cross functional processes and/or structures that improve the efficiency and timeliness of technical accounting within the organization.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Brings
Bachelor's Degree or International Equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred.
5+ years of technical accounting across Big 4 audit and corporate accounting environments.
Expert-level knowledge and previous experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices and reporting guidelines; SOX requirements and audit techniques and methodologies.
Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, time management, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Direct experience in an organization for a company selling SaaS software, services, and products as an employee; former consulting experience is a plus.
