The successful candidate will have prior experience with project accounting and consolidating several projects to report to management on a GAAP basis, highlight issues as well as solid experience with process improvements. The candidate will report to the Architecture Finance lead in Atlanta and will have dotted line to the Architecture VP in Seattle. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Manage and lead an accurate and timely monthly close within the corporate deadlines * Provide detailed explanations for variances in monthly and quarterly numbers to local architecture management as well corporate * Report on projects profitability and available funding to management (on percentage of completion basis) * Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers and identify any opportunities for extra billing for projects * Approve and report to management on all write offs of any project-related billings that cannot be billed or collected from customers * Prepare and manage to an approved budget for architecture * Establish strong partnerships with all stakeholders in Seattle as well as at Corporate in Menlo Park and Atlanta, architecture hub * Establish strong well-defined efficient processes and internal controls (including SOX) for all areas for the shared services group * Maintain company's compliance with all architecture requirements related to finance and accounting. * Coordinate with corporate Tax team any related tax compliance including returns * Coordinate with the IT group to implement stringent system controls and high security standards. * Provide timely support and guidance to all ad hoc corporate request Required Skills & Experience Qualified Accountant (CA, CIMA, ACCA or international equivalent) with a Bachelor's Degree is preferred Extensive experience in project accounting as well as controllership accounting Sound knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and experience in ensuring compliance with US GAAP Solid leadership skills required and ability to interface and collaborate with senior executive management Ability to work in a global environment and support internal customers geographically dispersed. Experience of working in the architecture/construction Industry will be an added advantage. Advanced Microsoft Excel, knowledge and PowerPoint skills. Experience working in an ERP environment. SAP preferred.
