  • 2nd Shift will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes across the plant for 2nd shift operations and logistics. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and effect short-term and some long-term business goals across the entire manufacturing shop.

Tasks:

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide leadership in the attainment of goals with respect to safety, quality, cost, production and compliance

  • Direct process / product improvement programs and provide process method excellence throughout the organization

  • Lead 2nd shift team to achieving goals in asset utilization, process / manufacturing loss improvement, delivered quality and cost reduction

  • Ensure communication of key business / customer issues to employees

  • Direct the manufacturing of production and development of hardware

  • Be responsible for meeting all established cost, quality, and delivery commitments

  • Ensure assigned employees are aware / comply with all GE government, customer and applicable policies, procedures, rules and regulations

  • Pursue state of the art technology and processes to enhance product / process productivity and delivered quality requirements

  • Interface with other organizations and vendors to assure requirements are met on time

  • Develop necessary business plans to enhance all program requirements, including throughput, labor hours, cycle, cost productivity, and image

  • Structure assigned organization and staff positions with personnel to accomplish business objectives

  • Lead diversified team of assembly, fabrication and quality technicians to manufacture, test and ship complex electrical equipment

  • Prioritize dedicated fabrication cells and assembly lines to meet customer needs

  • Be responsible for Service Performance

  • Drive service performance and contribute to the overall business strategy

  • Coordinate processes between 1st and 2nd shift operations

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a shop leadership or mechanical manufacturing, or military mechanical position)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a shop leadership position

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to work 2nd Shift hours

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP

  • Prior experience in logistics operations and shipping

  • Knowledge of manufacturing policies and regulations established by ABB as well as government and other customers

  • Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems

  • Operations Management Leadership Program ( OMLP )

  • Strong Lean background and experience transforming operations to flow cells / lines

  • Prior experience implementing lean assembly, fabrication and materials processes

  • Prior experience in an automated assembly plant

  • CAD, CAD / CAM experience

  • Excellent project tracking and detailed planning skills

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a customer oriented mindset

  • Computer literate and skilled in Excel, Word, PowerPoint Prior experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Able to present Technical Information

  • Strong ability to work within a cross functional team and influence decisions

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

The quality technician inspects electrical components for low to medium voltage equipment. 2019-02-28 Manufacturing/Production Workers Tasks: Perform tests on and troubleshoot assembled panels which include both electrical and mechanical devices. Test electronic modules and set program parameters. Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters (digital voltmeters), curve tracers, power supplies, automatic test equipment and tools such as torque wrenches, torque screwdrivers, screwdrivers, wrenches and other tools as required. Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics. Assist other quality control technicians and assembly personnel where quality control questions arise. Train other employees as necessary. Must have the flexibility to test equipment in all areas. Other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Must have: Associates degree or similar in Electronics/Electrical Engineering Technology OR equivalent electronics work experience of 3-5 years with a focus on quality.
