Essential Functions:

  • Adhere to Sun Country Airlines' purchase policies and procedures

  • Streamline order and repair processes

  • Be available for on-call assistance and guidance in support of AOG part procurement

  • Source, negotiate, and procure products and services including inventory and non-inventory purchases

  • Track material for AOG, MEL, NEF, and MTI part requirements

  • Coordinate part arrival with Planning and Maintenance to assure that defects are cleared as quickly as possible

  • Generate and monitor open order reports to ensure vendors meet required delivery dates

  • Analyze reorder requisitions and inventory levels, factoring in vendor lead times and product demands to determine reorder levels. Ensure product availability and minimize inventory and transportation costs

  • Monitor loan activity to ensure all loans are processed and returned expeditiously

  • Monitor supplier performance and communicate regularly to ensure they are meeting the needs of Sun Country Airlines

  • Evaluate vendor quotes, turn times, and services to determine most desirable suppliers

  • Manage and approve repair quotes while analyzing quotes for possible BER determination and scrap.

  • Ensure Sun Country Airlines' scrap policy is followed and initiate scrap replacement requisitions, as required, to replenish repairable and rotable inventory.

  • Research and oversee warranty claims on all rotable and expendable component purchases, removals, repairs, and exchanges. Negotiate and expedite favorable settlement for all claims

  • Follow-up with accounting to ensure proper credit is applied

  • Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines

  • Perform other functions as assigned by the Director Materials

Required Education and Experience:

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Aviation Management, Business, Supply Chain or related major preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Purchasing / Repairs Management with airline experience preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • Directs, coordinates and oversees organization's purchasing and repair management policies, objectives, and initiatives.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability.

  • Ability to perform independently and deliver results to the requisite quality and timeline metrics.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills.

  • High level negotiation, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Sound judgment and decision making skills.

  • Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive and confidential information.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with others in a professional manner.

The Production Manager manages the production line, applying continuous improvement principles and methods and promoting participation related management techniques. Specific responsibilities include: * Manage daily production operations through the Production Superintendent, production supervisors and/or production teams to maximize production efficiency including volume or product produced, run rates, raw material utilization, yield loss, downtime, and slowdown while producing high quality product in a safe manner. Ensure that standards and expectations are in place, routinely communicated, clearly understood and consistently met. * Provide formal objectives and measurements for plant personnel and is involved in machine trouble shooting, efficiency studies and capital improvements. * Ensure that production crews are well trained, involved and committed to meeting production, quality, and safety requirements. Assure that equipment and machinery complies with all outside regulatory agency requirements and that employees are adequately protected against safety hazards and that the plant is operated within environmental permit requirements. * Meet daily production schedule and requirements. Work jointly with logistics and purchasing to ensure appropriate inventory mix is available, while balancing both production efficiency and raw material demands. * Develop, implement and track compliance to production department expense budgets. Control key cost elements to ensure achievement to ensure achievement of budget spending goals. Guide production supervision to achieve a balance between production needs, machine reliability and overall repair cost. * Provide leadership and direction to the production department. Responsible for maintaining an environment for good employee relations. Work closely with human resources and supervisors to ensure appropriate staffing is maintained. Participate in hiring process to ensure we staff motivated team members. Ability to effectively communicate the Bonus Plan to all employees to maximize participation and impact on performance. * Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: * A Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Chemical or Mechanical preferred coupled with 4 – 6 years of experience in manufacturing management with project management experience. * Demonstrated experience in process and quality improvements, implementing strategy for production operations, hiring/training/coaching employees and performance management. * Additional experience in a high volume manufacturing operation, preferably continuous web process preferred.
