GENERAL SUMMARY:
Join our team as a Pharmacy Automation Systems Manager, reporting to the Pharmacy Leader within Pharmacy Shared Services. Lead and oversee a team of supervisors, technician specialists, and pharmacy support staff in developing, implementing, and maintaining pharmacy automation systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining automation policies and training manuals.
Planning and assessing pharmacy automation for new facilities, renovations, and IT budgets.
Identifying and optimizing opportunities to enhance patient care services and pharmacy operations.
Will assist the Pharmacy Enterprise in identifying opportunities to streamline patient care services and improve the provision of pharmacy services by optimizing pharmacy automation and technology to maximize efficiencies, safety, transparency, and synergy.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership:
Manage and Support Automation Systems: Oversee automated dispensing cabinets, pharmacy dispensing devices, packaging solutions, sterile compounding automation, and other pharmacy systems.
Technical Leadership: Lead technical requirements, builds, interfaces, master file standardization, and inventory optimization to advance autonomous pharmacy strategies.
Team Oversight: Direct the Pharmacy Automation department, including supervisors, technician specialists, and support staff.
Ensure Functionality: Maintain software and hardware functionality for automation systems across the health system.
Collaborate: Work closely with IT, Finance, EHR, Supply Chain, internal departments, and external vendors.
Data Management: Analyze, correct, trend, map, and load data files to optimize system performance.
Training and Competency: Oversee staff training and competency development for automation systems.
Software Upgrades: Manage testing and implementation of software upgrades.
Customer Service:
Engage with Stakeholders: Build strong relationships to understand needs and challenges.
Develop Future Solutions: Forecast, develop, and execute automation workflows for future needs.
Educate Customers: Provide educational opportunities to enterprise customers.
Maintain Effective Partnerships: Collaborate with Supply Chain, IT, hospitals, and strategic vendors.

Manages multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Support project implementations as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Materials Management, Health Administration, Accounting, or related field, or the equivalent in work experience, such as a minimum of three (3) years of experience involving medication procurement, pharmacy sourcing and medication inventory management in a health care setting required.
Pharmacy technician experience for at least five (5) years required.
At least five (5) years of experience with various pharmacy dispensing systems, inventory management, and other automation supporting pharmacy operations required, with particular preference to experience using BD Pyxis, ARxIUM Carousels, and RxWorks.
Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required.
Knowledge and/or understanding of 340b preferred.
Proven leadership in coordinating and improving operational services
Knowledge of managed care and progressive pharmacy practice
Reliable and responsible work history
