Join Henry Ford Health as the Manager of Pharmacy Academic Programs and Practice, part of our Pharmacy Enterprise team, supporting our site leaders across all academic programs with your expertise and leadership.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Reports to the Director of Pharmacy and works closely with the Administrative Manager(s) in charge of Pharmacy Operations. The Manager will be the lead pharmacist administrator supporting site leaders of all academic programs within the Pharmacy Enterprise to ensure optimal performance and alignment.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manager-Pharmacy Academic Programs and Practice is a member of the Pharmacy Enterprise leadership team, and reports to the respective senior pharmacy leader under the direction of the Chief Pharmacy Officer.
The Manager will be the primary liaison between the Pharmacy Enterprise and external academic program leaders, including, but not limited to, colleges of pharmacy and pharmacy accreditation organizations.
The Manager will oversee faculty appointments and be responsible for overseeing assigned faculty from colleges of pharmacy, as well as ensuring practices and research align with the Pharmacy Enterprise.
Provide guidance and support to Pharmacy Enterprise academic program leadership to ensure compliance and strategic alignment with the Pharmacy Enterprise and portfolio of pharmacy services.
The Manager will create a Publication & Practice Research Committee to oversee all pharmacy related academic projects, manuscripts and publications, best practices, and other academic activities as directed.
Ensure pharmacy residency programs & advanced pharmacy practice rotations align with, and support, Pharmacy Enterprise practice professional requirements, established clinical standards of care, meet or exceed patient care quality standards, are in compliance with various regulatory agencies, and integrate with other departments as appropriate.
Triages inquiries and audits into academic pharmacy programs across the care delivery system and ensures active follow-up on all requests and issues.
Collaborate with all Pharmacy Enterprise academic program leaders and preceptors to ensure a unified high-value pharmacy team and approach.
Maintains knowledge of leading-edge developments, best practices, and evolving pharmacy practices and solutions by participation in ongoing independent study, education- related professional activities, precepting pharmacy students or residents, and affiliations with colleges of pharmacy and respective professional societies.
Enable and foster collaborative and transparent healthcare industry relationships to advance our Pharmacy Enterprise forward in pursuit of high reliability and safety.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have obtained an advanced degree (Pharm.D. or equivalent), completed a residency program approved by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, a fellowship in pharmacy, or have demonstrated a similar level of achievement in the practice of hospital pharmacy.
Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Michigan. Should be Board Certified in his/her area of specialty practice.
