JOB SUMMARY: The Manager of Performance Improvement/Risk Management is fully responsible for directing and monitoring the facility-wide quality assurance program and activities while ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
Oversees effective implementation of quality and performance improvement processes. Develops and oversees workplace education on privacy and security policies, procedures, and expectations in these areas. Ensures information confidentiality, integrity, and availability to meet regulatory requirements and accepted business practices.
Responsible for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the facility, maintain, update and ensure practice of all hospital policies and procedures to provide a safe, secure, therapeutic and professional environment at all times. To lead by example and champion the philosophy of Service Excellence.
Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital is an 88-bed psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing quality behavioral health services for its diverse population of children and adolescents. Education: Bachelors Degree, Master's degree in healthcare related field preferred.
Experience: Previous management experience, knowledge of and experience with regulatory and survey standards and accreditation processes for behavioral hospital required.
Recent experience in Quality Outcomes in healthcare. Experience in quality assurance, risk management and hospital operations. Experience in information privacy laws, access, release of information, and release control technologies. Experience in and the ability to apply principles of Health Information Management project management and change management.
Licensure/Certification: Certified Processional in Healthcare Quality and Six Sigma preferred.
Possesses knowledge of principles of risk management and performance improvement related to a health care environment.
Current knowledge of regulating /accrediting agency guidelines. Knowledge of Joint Commission, DCFS, DHS and IDPH. State and federal law and/or regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of computer skills and statistical analysis desired.
