Veterinary Emergency Group ("VEG") is a rapidly growing veterinary emergency company with over 70 hospital locations in 23 states (and growing) across the United States. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are in search of a leader of our payroll operations team. The right candidate is someone who believes in the Company mission and can leverage past experiences to help build the world's emergency company. All that being done by continually improving the department, scaling our best in class system, providing great employee experience and collaborating effectively with our people and operations teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurate and timely payroll for our weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payroll
Lead the team of four (and growing) payroll employees to execute on payroll
Develop best in class payroll processing that focuses on ensuring accuracy of gross and net pay
Have a thorough understanding of our pay structure to ensure payroll outputs are consistent with said structure
Own the Workday output and coding to be provided to our accounting team
Collaborate with the people and operations team to ensure our Veggies are provided with a payroll experience consistent with our core employee values
Subject matter expert for payroll and the payroll module of Workday
Manage employee inbound questions regarding pay
Recommend payroll team structure and growth based on our scaling business
Develop team expertise
Lead team to be viewed as a trusted partner to the organization
WHO YOU ARE
Minimum 5+ years of payroll experience
Bachelor's degree or higher
Proficiency in Microsoft office (strong Excel background), Payroll Systems (i.e. Workday and ADP) and database software
Multi Unit/Multi State payroll and tax regulations experience
Clear and friendly style of communication, problem-solving abilities and a customer service mindset.
A high level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive employee information
Organizational, multi-tasking, prioritizing and problem-solving skills.

Pay Range: $130,000-140,000 base + bonus potential
Full time position with a flexible schedule (3 days in office are required)
