JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Procurement and Payroll Operations (DPPO), will serve as the lead payroll support for the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. Coordinates payroll activities for the college and their assigned departments, providing support to assigned units and college Procurement and Payroll Support (PPS) staff. Contributes to process efficiency and ensures data and transaction accuracy. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
25% - Essential
Serves as Advanced/Lead Timekeeper for the college support units in Kronos. Assists in escalating non-compliance of Supervisors to the DPPO. Check HR to ensure accurate hires and terminations have been processed. Check paysheet reports to ensure those on reoccurring payroll are in current status. Enters special pay entries as needed. Ensures accuracy of account strings used for payroll changes have been made and sign off on closing of pay periods. Maintains payroll tracking sheets. Initiates hiring of students, staff and faculty for assigned units and manages post hire payroll. Enters graduate students in the GS61.
25% - Essential
Implements payroll process improvements as directed by the DPPO driving standardization, efficiency, and compliance. Drives consistency and continuous improvement in payroll practices (tools and procedures). Conducts audits at the direction of the DPPO to ensure accuracy and proficiency in payroll actions. Executes audit schedule and follows up with DPPO and departments as needed. Develops and leads special trainings for all PPS as needed on payroll actions.
25% - Essential
Provides support to all PPS and other faculty and staff in CECAS on all payroll inquiries. Assists in managing the PPS Teams chat and leading the monthly PPS meetings, under the direction of the DPPO. Develops training schedule and completes for all newly hired PPS- on payroll duties. Provides support across all CECAS departments with summer pay entries and department vacancies.
15% - Essential
Serves as the college Kronos liaison, ensuring all CECAS departments have signed off on time-cards and ensures accuracy-setting internal deadlines. Enters moving expenses for the college. Coordinates, tracks and enters payments for Summer Pay for all Directors and Chairs. Enters college-wide special pays at the direction of the DPPO.
10% - Essential
Supports the college business office and the DPPO in special projects driving fiscal accuracy as needed. Provides monthly payroll projections at the college level to drive accurate fiscal planning and financial projections.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and
Work Experience: 1+ years professional experience directly related, such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range: ($ 45,530.00 - $ 62,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL

Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
