This position is responsible for managing students in the various WVU Health System pipeline programs. Incumbent will also serve as a contact for students in WVU Health System pipeline programs. The primary responsibility for this position will be to maintain a portfolio of students committed to WVU Health System through the pipeline programs that includes specific retention strategies including, but not limited to, regular check-ins, assessment of current state of student progress in academic programs, assignment of professional nurse preceptors as appropriate, and social networking of students to enhance pre-employment experience. Incumbent will also assist with data analysis of nursing data for the health system. Will be responsible for running reports and making recommendations of data reviewed in Workday. Oversees the fulfillment of larger organizational goals by coordinating activities between multiple projects, giving detailed attention to program strategy, project delegation and program implementation for the Center for Nursing Excellence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1.Bachelor's degree in Nursing and RN licensure.

OR

2.Bachelor's degree in Education, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:

1.Experience in working with nursing and leadership.

2.Strong understanding of nursing education, academic progression, and the challenges faced by aspiring nurses.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1.Master's Degree in Nursing, Education, Healthcare Administration, or related field

2.Nursing Licensure or Specialty Certification

EXPERIENCE:

1.Familiarity with nursing education and the progression of academic pathways, along with the ability to offer guidance and support.

2.Experience in program management, preferably within an educational or healthcare setting.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1.Cultivate relationships with academic partners with the intent of introducing them to WVU Health System pipeline programs and/or opportunities for their students.

2.Serve as the front-line contact with individual students in the WVU Health System pipeline across the academic footprint

3.Maintain a portfolio and build relationships with students committed to WVU Health System through the pipeline programs that includes specific retention strategies including, but not limited to, regular check-ins, assessment of current state of student progress in academic program, assignment of professional nurse mentor as appropriate, and social networking of students to enhance pre-employment experience.

4.Create and execute strategies that result in students selecting a WVU Health System pipeline program that ultimately commits them to WVU Health System as their employer of choice upon graduation. Adjusts student retention strategies, as appropriate.

5.Collaborate and build relationships with HR, Marketing and Nurse recruiters to align strategies and promote program awareness.

6.Collaborate and build relationships with state and community partners to increase pipeline of nurses (i.e.-Center for Nursing WV, WV RN Board, Workforce WV, etc.)

7.Collaborate to ensure graduate nurses have a successful transition to practice.

8.Develop and implement strategies aimed at ensuring the retention of pipeline students who have made a commitment to WVU Health System, guiding each student through the hiring process and supporting them during their initial year of employment.

9.Facilitate the pre-boarding process within WVU Health System, encompassing activities such as linking students with available resources within the organization. Offer valuable advice and consultations to pipeline students regarding potential training and developmental prospects.



  1. Collaborate with various internal partners to maintain network alignment on pipeline strategies.

  2. Create and maintain a central process for clinical rotations, partner with system Clinical Educators to help support clinical rotations for students.

  3. Ensure the proper upkeep of essential materials concerning students and effectively relay any new information as necessary to pipeline students, academic partner faculty and leadership, as well as the Nursing Leadership within the WVU Health System.

  4. Collaborates with HR to build reports from Workday for data analysis. Constructs comprehensive data reporting and dashboards, leveraging the ability to analyze data and subsequently offer informed recommendations.

  5. Manage ongoing collaborative relationships with schools of nursing across regions served by WVU Medicine

  6. In an environment of continuous quality improvement, track and trend key performance indicators for the Aspiring Nurse Program and other programs to include both qualitative and quantitative measures.

  7. Lead marketing and promotion of the Aspiring Nurse Program at the local, state, and national arenas to bring awareness to the benefit of the program and the investment WVU Medicine is placing on supporting new nurses.

  8. Effectively communicate program status, goals, barriers, ideas, needs and resources to CNE team through regular check-in meetings

  9. Develop and maintain organized program components through standard work documents and tracking mechanisms

  10. Assist with development of structures and processes for shared governance.

  11. Support succession planning by assisting in highlighting potential vacancies and focusing on competencies and skills necessary to meet future needs.

  12. Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1.Proficient in Excel to build spreadsheets for data analysis.

2.Excellent verbal, written and communication/presentation skills.

3.Keen ability to handle multiple projects at one time.

4.Proficiency in data analysis, report generation, and working with data visualization tools.

5.Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, maintain records, and meet deadlines
