Pay Range: $93,150 - $113,850/year

Location:Covina, CA (Hybrid position)

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional weekends and evenings are required

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Masonic Outreach Services (So. CA) is responsible for administering and coordinating the senior and the family programs.  These programs provide care related services to seniors (those over 60) and children and family service (those under 60) to members of our constituent group in the form of direct financial assistance; care management; and information and referral to appropriate senior and family service agencies throughout the State.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees the daily operations of the MSOS, MFOS and DWB programs, including supervising care managers based in Northern CA; managing and controlling financial expenditures and budget; approving and ensuring compliance with care plans and processing applications toward the admissions process for the Northern CA Region.
  • Provides support and guidance for clients and families throughout the application process.
  • Prepare and present applications to the Admissions Team on a monthly basis.
  • Reviewing and signing off on all care plans within assigned region; monitor ongoing compliance such as HIPAA, CA Privacy law, etc.
  • Respond to client grievances and ensuring equitable outcomes.
  • May manage a small caseload of clients periodically based on department need and demand.
  • Supervise and train remotely based Care Managers through field supervision/support; monthly meetings and on-going trainings.
  • Proactive management of client case load including recommendations for streamlining processes and procedures to ensure that the majority of efforts are directed at providing direct services rather than processing paperwork and benefits administration.
  • Oversee the accounts payable process each month and ensure the integrity of data reporting.
  • Contributes toward the development and implementation of strategic initiatives identified by the organization for the MOS Department.
  • Develops staff trainings and the Annual MOS Staff Retreat, along with MOS Management Team.
  • Participates in the Lodge Outreach Program throughout assigned territory, supporting the Manager of Outreach and Education with facilitating training sessions to the lodge leadership. This includes weekend work and travel throughout the region.
  • Conducts presentations of the programs, at lodges and other masonic related events, to increase program awareness and strengthen outreach efforts, which may include strategic initiatives as well.
  • Attends Masonic Homes and MOS management meetings, serving as a lead staff on the UC campus on behalf of the MOS Department, working collaboratively with other campus departments.
  • Will provide backup during absence of the Director of Masonic Senior and Family Outreach and the Manager of Masonic Outreach Services, So CA.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must be self-motivated, customer service oriented with a demonstrated compassion for and understanding of issues facing older adults and families.
  • Extensive background in managing caseworkers and operating a geriatric care management program. Knowledge of rules and regulations for retirement communities, residential care facilities and skilled nursing homes.
  • Demonstrated experience and background in creating and streamlining processes and procedures to ensure high quality and effective care with tight audit controls.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

Any combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge and abilities listed, typically:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or other Social Sciences, Gerontology or Humanities with program management experience. Master’s in Social Sciences or Gerontology with supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to obtain Care Manager Certification
  • Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license without restrictions.  Must be willing to travel throughout the State in automobile and via air travel.
