The purpose of this position is to plan and coordinate all aspects of Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to achieve world class quality levels, enhance responsiveness to customer concerns, and reduce cost of poor quality by establishing and sustaining robust quality systems.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement using DBS tools including, but not limited to, Daily Management, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, Standard Work (SW), and VRK.
Drive optimization of KPIs around Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity through the use of Manufacturing Engineering and DBS tools and techniques
Actively participate in monthly L3 Ops Reviews and support site leadership in creating PD, Bowler Charts, and action plans.
Guide lean manufacturing efforts focusing on standard work efficiency and improving internal and external quality.
Provide leadership to ensure kaizen results are sustained.
Establish and improve quality systems and procedures consistent with ISO requirements, benchmarking best practices from Automotive, Aerospace, and/or Medical Industries.
Define and improve quality metrics to drive internal and external quality.
Lead consistent deployment of quality management tools such as: 8D problem solving, DMAIC process, SPC standards, Error Proofing, Design of Experiments, DFMEA/PFMEA, Control Plans, etc.
Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Coordinate product quality tests of varying complexity (process and final testing) with lab technicians.
Manage and develop a team of manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and technicians focusing on skills development, engagement, and performance management.
Lead engineering and manufacturing teams to provide effective APQP processes.
Create and implement manufacturing processes and documentation (PCP, PFMEA, etc)
Support/partner cross-functionally with R&D, Engineering, and Procurement teams in new product development and launches.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
5 years quality leadership experience in certified manufacturing organization(s); minimum 3 years' experience in management position
Experience with supplier audits and scorecards preferred
Proven track record of successful implementation of LEAN/Six Sigma manufacturing tools and techniques.
Experience of implementation and sustainment of ISO 9001 certification.
Quality: Lean problem-solving and corrective action processes; including 8D, Pareto Analysis, 5-Why technique, Design of Experiments and other manufacturing-related continuous improvement tools. Supplier quality management experience including retaining and regaining customers.
Quality Assurance: Plans and carries out systemic activities of a quality system so that quality requirements for a product will be fulfilled. Provides systematic measurement, comparison with standards, monitoring of processes and feedback loops.
