The Manager of Learning and Development provides oversight to the design and implementation of internal leadership development, team effectiveness, talent, and organizational development programs to align with business needs and priorities. As partner to company's leadership, understand the company's business strategy, translate the strategy to talent needs, assess skill gaps and implement programs to minimize gaps, with priority focus on leadership development. Develop curriculum and development programs to address skill gaps across the organization.

Oversees and drives development experiences provided to leaders to help them improve their effectiveness in their current role while also building an internal talent pipeline to meet future business goals. Influence senior leaders to ensure robust participation, by themselves and their departments, in development programs. Oversees performance management program, talent review, and targeted coaching and development of high potential leaders and other employee experience/culture programs. Ensures programs are implemented effectively.

Essential Functions and

  • Partner with business leaders and HR business partners determine development needs. Provide creative solutions and consultation that offer a blended approach to ensure that employees are skilled to meet company goals and drive company performance, with a focus on leadership development.

  • Partner with HR leaders on a leadership development strategy and roadmap to implement leadership programs and tools. Design and deliver training and development programs.

  • Oversee learning and development program. Recommend and structure development programs that promote actionable and relevant opportunities for improved skills and performance for employees, incorporating classroom, on-line, on-the-job, self-paced, and experiential learning.

  • Oversee talent review program.

  • Oversee the scheduling and coordinating of all internal leadership, team effectiveness and soft skill development.

  • Monitor the impact of training programs by establishing and monitoring metrics through the creation of effective evaluation methods (e.g. feedback questionnaires and surveys).

  • Monitor, review and update learning strategy to meet the current and future needs of the business.

  • Oversee execution of global performance management processes ensuring consistency and quality in approach.

  • Implement a performance management process that leads to a positive and measurable impact on the company.

  • Effectively manage vendor relationships to ensure delivery of quality services.

  • Partner and coordinate with other departments offering development programs, such as Sales Enablement, Product Certification, Development for our Customers, and Employee/Company onboarding to leverage common materials and ensure learning experiences for our employees and leaders are complimentary.

  • Ensures Learning and Development software technology is keeping pace with the market, recommends investments and changes in technology as needed.

  • Prepare and manage relevant budget(s).

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resources and 4 to 6 years' experience leading Learning and Talent Development programs.

  • Proven skills in talent development and performance management, written and oral communication at all levels, project management, problem solving, and measurement skills are essential along with superior hands-on skills in face-to-face and virtual instructor-led instructional design and facilitation. Proven skills in translating business needs to creative learning solutions to drive positive outcomes for the business.

  • In-depth knowledge of adult learning and training communication techniques.

  • Skilled in articulating financial benefits and value-added metrics to learning and development solutions.

  • Demonstrated expertise in building effective relationships.

  • Experience and demonstrated success in managing in a matrix environment.

  • Experience planning, developing, and managing departmental budget.

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with PC applications

  • Proficient in MS office applications

  • Virtual meeting software proficiency

Other Requirements

  • Able to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

  • American Society of Training and Development certification is preferred.
